Ice skating is the only sport I pay attention to at all, and this was such an amazing start to Nationals last night. Alyssa Liu broke the record for short program high score, and then five minutes later, Amber Glenn broke that record! It was so fun to watch.
stop what you're doing and let Amber Glenn take you to church #USPrevagenChamps #figureskating

My reading for the year. I think the best thing I read all year was The Everlasting by Alix Harrow, but there were quite a few books that I really liked this year (and a couple that fell completely flat for me).

there is no moral universe in which someone who ran on QAnon and supported a coup is pro-democracy, and if there is, it’s worse than worthless
The pro-democracy movement needs to include factions which we disagree with vehemently on all other matters.

That’s the point of a pro-democracy movement—we aren’t aligned on the direction of our society, but we all agree we should have a right to contest it freely and fairly.

Parisot (the Director) tells a story about how Tim Allen just started crying after a scene one day

"I don't like these feelings i'm having." Says Tim. "I'm going back to my trailor" and walks off.

There's silence for a second.

"Oh my god." Says Rickman. "I think Tim just experienced acting."
Galaxy Quest - a perfect movie, just a wonderful love letter to actors, sci-fi, Star Trek in particular, and to fandom - really deserves a proper physical release with decent extras. Think Weaver's right that releasing a R-rated cut would be fun, too.

The Governess Affair is the first novella of Courtney's I ever read and it absolutely spun me.

This is one of our genre's core works. The exploration of agency and consent after trauma should be (and is!) studied in classrooms.

If you yell HAIRPINS and folks freak out, they know.

And it's free!

I live in her district, and this will be the day after my birthday, so, uh, happy birthday to me, I guess? Don't worry, I'm sure this district will elect someone equally terrible to take her place. Also, I'm sure she's either going to run for Senate or governor.

Last month, eight books were removed from Georgia's statewide reading book for students. It was teenagers who brought this censorship to the spotlight–even though it's not their job to clean up grown-up messes.

There’s no such thing as “conservative feminism.”

They’re co-opting the label “feminist” as a shield against critiques of their misogyny. But you can’t be a feminist if your entire platform is stripping rights from other women to hand them to men.

Viral posts about how Moms For Liberty had zero wins on election night...aren't true. They're misinformation, even dis-info.

M4L did have a number of school board candidates win. You can verify that information pretty easily.

They had *A LOT* of losses and their power isn't what it once was.

Georgia Democrats had not won a statewide race that wasn't for a federal office since 2006.

They won two races tonight, both against GOP incumbents.

The margins? 62% to 38% in both.

This is news I can use.
Since we’re talking BUNNICULA I need everyone to know that the audiobook is read by Victor Garber and he truly out-gays himself. Harold and Chester absolutely come across as the fussy middle-aged couple they were obviously meant to be.
If you see this, post a vampire that isn’t Dracula.
