A great response from the Health Secretary here.

Just one of many clips that have been posted online of him fully & openly answering questions about the potential doctors strikes.

And hopefully more resident doctors will be like Joss, who was calling in here, who will vote for this deal.

This is how Chris Mason, like a child filled with wonder, described "the choreography and theatre that surrounds a Budget" in Feb 2024, when a male Tory Chancellor was in post.

"Plans, or even just options, can be floated... Reaction to them can be tested. Opponents can be teased or wrongfooted." 👀

No that's not *your* on *our behalf*. Your job is to report the story, presenting all sides fairly and then *we* call it. What Mason is saying here is fundamentally not what the bbc is for!

I’m pro immigration. I vote Labour. I support a strong approach to our borders. I also support safe routes for those fleeing war torn countries. Asylum must be fair to all. I trust Labour to get the balance right. It may take a few iterations. It beats anything Reform advocate

Here are some facts about the asylum plans that I've found in various sources (mainly the Guardian).

Rather than being negative about it all, identify the parts you don't like & discuss alternatives.

There are many things people have said they want to see & others which are being misreported.

Wonder what the actual policy will be when/ if it comes into play.
Once again even more “ nauseating” speculation.
"Mahmood said a raft of tough immigration controls were designed to unlock “the inherent openness, tolerance and generosity” of the British people."

Such nauseating shamelessness.

There was absolutely NOTHING in the Chancellors press conference to suggest income tax was going up.

That was the media.

Again.

Going into it believing it was going up a coming out of it repeating the claim.

I never thought it was going up before & didn't think it after.

If we're talking about bias, why do BBC politics programmes, from Politics Live to the Laura Kuennsberg Show, still always begin with a look at the newspaper front pages, which are overwhelmingly biased in one direction. Helps frame the entire news agenda and debate in their favour

78% are murdered by a partner/ex

Yet not once have I heard Reform talk about this

Not once have I heard them back measures to protect women’s safety

In fact, they voted against them...

Here is your answer @mrjamesob.bsky.social
There is an easy explanation about why the popularity of digital ID fell following the police announcement: disinformation.

So much disinformation was immediately shared, even by many usually sensible people.

Guardian doing this more and more frequently. Trying to compete with the Mail?
The guardian is very sneakily phrasing this as “number 10 received” before admitting in the article that Starmer had NOT seen them before his comments.

They know most people won’t bother their hole to read past the headline.

Incredible that those covering far right march in London are failing to link to history of far right in UK.

Tell it how it is: this extremist movement is the descendant of the BNP, Combat-18, Moseley's black shirts.

Either short memories or deliberate forgetting.

#r4today Where was this kind of analysis from Chris Mason when Farage was getting absolutely roasted by Jamie Raskin in Congress?

What’s been central to Reform’s “rise and rise” over the past year — and really since its inception — is the lack of serious media scrutiny from people like Mason.
