Tech has its own subprime mortgage crisis happening with generative AI. OpenAI burned $4bn this year (so far!) on cloud costs alone, and may spend $3bn+ on model training, with annualized revenues of $3.4bn. This is really bad! This company can't survive!

I know what you're thinking: darn, I've got so much PRIVACY. TOO MUCH privacy, even. Now, for a modest fee, you can have your medical information collected by a clunky technology whose owners will 100% give it to law enforcement on request and might also get hacked as well!

Can we *please* ensure that *all* H5N1 sequences generated using public funds are shared using *open* databases?
GISAID is not one such database, NCBI is. If sequences are shared using the former, please ensure it is also available on the latter (and NCBI should be default).
