Unpopular opinion: IDAF if Marjorie Traitor Greene or Thomas (m)Assie go after trump on Epstein:

They are both racist, raging antisemites who repeatedly pushed dangerous tropes against the marginalized for years. They are both 100% trash. Yes, 100 %.

The enemy of my enemy is still my enemy.

Zionism is a lifeline for Jews.

Israel literally saved my family from genocide in Iraq and Africa, as well as Jews from Russia, China, Europe and countless other places.

That’s why anti-Zionism sounds like a death threat to us.

"Is 53 greater or less than 47" quickly becoming the defining political question of our time
Love to see people in the year 2026 spend all day talking about what the Dems can’t do and shouldn’t try
I mean, sure, Congress should, they never should have given the money in the first place and there's about a million things Congress should be doing to assert Art I powers

But this whole piece is written like Dems have a veto supermajority in both chambers

And I can assure you, regardless of my personal feelings on the subject, "fire half of federal LE without replacement and don't manage immigration" ain't it
I think a lot of people are falling for the same trap they did in 2020 where there was wide spread public support for "not that" just because the public does not like whats going on right now, doesn't mean they have deeply held and consistent views
I think there is a pretty clear-cut argument that DHS as named has to go

But people are gonna need to quickly do some reckoning with the realities of what that will actually look like and what entities from DHS will still be around if you don't want "abolish ICE" to be the next "defund the police"

It’s the same damned phenomenon with antivaxxers and their autistic children, hence the determination to “fix” the autistic child and get their “real child” back.
At the end of the day, it all boils down to "this is not the child we ordered, this one is defective, why can't it be normal and obedient and not annoy me? Back in the Sparta Frank Miller imagines we'd have thrown this one off the cliff."

That's it. That's all it is. No more, no less.

Sure, it's true that "we keep each other safe," but fucking part of that is supposed to be elevating sympathetic politicians, so that we can actually do things like mandate insurance coverage and criminalize discrimination, so that we're actually pushing forward and not constantly triaging.

The Montgomery bus boycott lasted over a year and took sustained coordination and the endurance of significant hardship on behalf of many people in order to target one specific system.

Calls for a one-day general strike sound romantic to people with no understanding of the reality of these issues.

It mistakenly treats democracy like a product instead of a civic duty. I vote because my right to do so has been predicated solely by the efforts of people before me and plenty of confederates and conservatives would love to prevent that.
The entire framing of "x candidate must EARN my vote" is invalid.
These elections are not just about YOU and YOUR vote or who is pure enough to "earn" your blessing.
It is about the BALANCE OF POWER.
You either vote blue or trump and his regime get all the power.
SIMPLE math.
Get it straight.

Not coincidentally, this mentality taken to it's ultimate extreme results in trump himself.
A monster of a man who is driven ENTIRELY by personal petty grievances.
Who may never have run for president at all if Obama had not made a joke at his expense in public.

The "ego-ization" of politics brought on by the internet has become toxic.
We lose proportionality.
We see our own very subjective opinions about how politics should be as the only possible way to see things.
+ that is how we talk ourselves into ALLOWING a psychopath like trump to become president.

To think that an election that will effect the lives and deaths of MILLIONS of people (even billions) is mostly about YOU?
That x candidate must serve YOU personally, your particular political niche first and foremost, "earn" your vote?
How selfish can you get?

Voting blue is not about "rewarding" politicians who you may not be 100% enthusiastic about.
It's not even really about you OR the individual person you are voting for.
Voting blue is about preventing fascists from doing whatever they want to the country and the world.
Don't get it twisted.
If you are not "enthusiastic" about voting blue this year?
Then you better GET enthusiastic.
There is no excuse for not doing so.
Not one good reason to let republicans continue to control the U.S. government.
Not one.

“Why won’t Democrats save us??? Also I cannot and will not vote for Democrats reliably and spread demonstrable falsehoods about them but want cookies for doing the right thing one time. I am very principled and heroic.”
I am left leaning and often will not vote for Dems. I left the party in the 90's.

However I did vote for Harris and other Dems because of the importance of stopping Trump.

I do scream "genocide" and think most Dems have sold out, but the politics of the last decade required a change of tactics.

Another in a long list of "this site is multiple forms of illiterate" is the fact that *so many people* on here seem just fundamentally incapable of grasping the difference btwn what McConnell accomplished in 09-14 and what he accomplished in 15 & 16 (or even beyond).
this isn’t really true? the main political consequence of mcconnell’s intransigence was that obama won reelection and democrats kept their senate majority. to the extent that mcconnell helped trump win, it was after republicans won the senate majority.

I've had a theory that white progressives just want to be bullies too and so "doing something" to them is bullying the correct people, but actual productive governing and/or getting the right people elected is boring to them
Jasmine Crockett: You’s a bad built, bleach blond butch body!

White progressives: YASSS! Jasmine should run for president! She’s got the fire we need!!!

Jasmine Crockett: I’m running for Senate in Texas.

White progressives: Sitchoass down! No one is voting for you cuz you’re Black! Go sit down!
