Historian here OTD a day that will live in infamy we need to point out that the reconstruction of Japan and Germany proved to be successful after WWII but the Reconstruction of the misbegotten Confederacy was brutally overthrown. We still live with the legacy of that history in the United States.

Because yes, Thanksgiving as a national holiday has to do with the Civil War and not the Puritans or previously proclaimed days of Thanksgiving (of which there were hundreds) - so be sure, as you gather about the table, to give thanks for the victories brought by Union arms at Vicksburg & Gettysburg

@durbin.senate.gov needs to be removed from his leadership position and every @democrats.senate.gov who votes for this needs to be ostracized from the Democratic Caucus. No polite conversation, no collegiality, just silence. They are abandoning their neediest constituents.
