Weird AI thing: So, now that I'm kind of in the traditional author world, I regularly get spam from people promising to introduce my book to tons of book clubs to make lots of sales. A few years ago, they were clearly spam both for the offering and because they were generic. Now they aren't generic.

Absolutely cannot wait to bust down the doors for a drink made by a company whose unionized workers are on strike in a store that doesn’t want to hire minorities anymore.

Anti-trans activists get away with really wild claims because there are that many trans people and people don't listen to us. Stuff that doesn't fly if you make even a cursory review of the evidence just hangs around for year after year, seemingly impervious to reality.
The majority of trans people are queer, bisexual, or pansexual. Less than 15% report being straight after transition. If people being trans was a way to make them "straight" it is horribly ineffective.

A very sticky problem that I don’t think is getting enough thought: when this regime is gone, we’re gonna have to do serious purging of law enforcement, especially on the federal level, but avoid the historic problems that come along with such purges. (See: Reconstruction, De-Baathification, etc.)
