I don’t give to or promote online fundraisers for individuals unless I know the recipient personally. Please don’t ask me to. I prefer to give money to charitable organizations. It’s not because I don’t trust individuals to use the money wisely or think them unworthy, it’s because scams are rampant.
I dunno, tearing ass through the Mojave desert in an open-air HMMWV while “Sabotage” by the Beastie Boys cranked through a Bluetooth speaker was pretty tight.

Then again, I never had a problem with “diversity trainings.”
“Diversity trainings were annoying” okay, name a work training that you loved to do?

Good. "But DHS isn't just ICE, it's also..." nope, wrong. DHS no longer serves any useful functions, the whole thing has been reassigned to repression. FEMA isn't even paying out to states. All DHS does is shooting, teargassing, facial recognition, and administrative warrants. Shut it down.
Senate Majority Leader John Thune said Thursday that demands made by Democrats for new restrictions on federal immigration officers are “unrealistic” and warned that the Department of Homeland Security will shut down next week if they do not work with Republicans and the White House.

NEW: since last year, a pair of "highly trained" feds have been involved in an array of incidents attacking crowds with chemical weapons.

We used public records and open source analysis to identify Edgar Vazquez and Michael Sveum, alongside some other members of their tactical team.

This man baby decided to destroy the sculpture.

So lacking in impulse control, so thin-skinned and juveline, he has to kick (poorly, like a stumbling idiot) anything that offends his delicate sensibilities.

How can we have robust debate with such as these? Can democracy survive these children?

Amazing. If a professional wrestling crowd is chanting "fuck ICE," it suggests to me that large swaths of the culture are not just upset over ICE tactics, they're coalescing against mass deportations as a broader ideological project.

I distinctly remember one of the main arguments against women in military combat arms jobs was “the men will rape the women” and I was aghast that people who claim to idolize tHe TrOoPz would assume that about, say, infantrymen. You’re telling me the guy in my foxhole is assumed to be a rapist?!
i dont really have the words to articulate it right now but i think a major element to... everything right now that no one wants to broach is that men are largely uninterested in a world without base misogyny and have a dimmer view of other men on that front than most feminists
This is the Yale professor's explanation for why he described the physical attractiveness of a student in an email to Epstein. He explicitly says he regrets nothing about their association.

Again, I'm so happy Yale hired David Brooks to restore trust.

Americans with genuine concern for the welfare of at-risk Afghans probably shouldn't have taken up with a far right political movement with an express xenophobic disposition.

All visible from 2021, of course.

On today’s episode of “Landlords are Scum”

Client family complains of bed bugs, says they’re coming from walls. Landlord says “you’ve been there 8 months, you brought them in, it’s on you.” Law seems to say otherwise. I call Dept. Enviro Health. Lady says “Oh yeah, landlord’s responsibility.”

There are far too many of us who can only answer “I don’t know”, when there shouldn’t be even one person on US soil that is unsure they’d survive.

But this is where we are.

If you can't stand up for a fellow journalist when she's being ridiculously bullied and demeaned for asking a basic question of a public leader, you sure as hell aren't going stand up for anything as abstract as a national principle or ethos.
