Personally, I think it's wrong that Starmer, with a Jewish family, family in Isreal and as a committed Zionist who receives donations from Labour Friends of Isreal, has any binding say, without extreme scrutiny, on the Isreal and Palestine issue. We need better.

UAE has no democratically elected institutions, no free speech and an appalling human rights record.

Its economy functions on completely different metrics to the ours & ranks well below us for GDP

No serious person would ever think that we should emulate it.

But here's Tice calling us decadent

I don't understand why I see things so differently. I see a health insurance industry that thinks it's entitled to charge people 1/3rd of their income for healthcare. That industry shouldn't be "fixed." It should be burned to the ground and its ashes pissed on.

Book Burner Cooper will one day come to trial and be found guilty. Hopefully Mahmood's collusion with her nonsense will also be punished thru the courts.

MI6 insiders slam Palestine Action ban as 'distraction' from real counter-terrorism

It seems everyone with any expertise on terrorism, including MI6, was against the Palestine Action ban - yet Labour proceeded anyway

It breaks my mind that two British political parties have seen scenes like this and decided to try and replicate it in Britain. Thuggary, lawlessness, state brutality. Farage and Badenoch decided they liked the look of it.

a lot of people have said the obvious alreadty but its worth pointing out the less than obvious too

the cass review did not recommend many of the more extreme measures our government(s) have taken against trans youth, such as the full ban on puberty blockers, including via private care.

A major new peer-reviewed Australian report warns that the UK’s Cass Review is fundamentally ill-suited to guide care for trans young people — and should not be adopted as a benchmark in Australia www.starobserver.com.au/news/new-rep...

Just got a haircut, and my lovely barber, a Turkish guy who employs 6 people, and has a wife who's an IVF technician, is shutting up shop and moving to another country because his Indefinite Leave to Remain is under threat by these venal, stupid, posturing politicians, left and right.

If this is not xenophobia then I don’t know what is.

When it comes to intimidating racist protests including outside our homes or place of worship, Black and Asian people are supposed to just accept it and the government saying “we hear you” and “it is right to protest this” and “I love flags me”. No thought of “cumulative impact” for us!

NEW: Home Office announces planned new anti-protest powers, mainly aimed at pro-Gaza protests like those for Palestine Action. Police will be able to consider the "cumulative impact" of repeated protests and potentially order that they be relocated.

Can Starmer be sold during the transfer window, or has he lost too much value. Maybe a free transfer.

NEW: French PM Sebastien Lecornu resigns after just a few weeks in office.

France’s political/governance crisis therefore deepens again. Macron has had five prime ministers in last 21 months and is about to have to appoint a sixth.

When Yvette Cooper was Home Sec she hinted the govt had further material justifying a ban that they couldn’t reveal because of the legal process. If so, better to get that out in daylight ASAP. Because as things stand they have clearly not made the case for proscription to the public’s satisfaction.

Miatta Fahnbulleh is asked about the govt giving the police more powers to restrict protests.

To be clear, what the govt is doing is exploiting the synagogue attack to ban protests against the genocide they’re complicit in, & Fahnbulleh is going along with that to keep her job.

Our politicians keep telling us that supporting Palestine is a betrayal of British Jews.

Labour, Reform and the Tories are all at it.

Yet they never mention British Jews who also support Palestine.

Surely treating all British Jews as one entity is the greatest betrayal of all?
