Death seems the only desirable sequel for a career like this

Many sea stars begin life as young fairy-like creature (called a brachiolaria) that float through the open ocean. Eventually, a small star forms within them (here in yellow). The fairy-like brachiolaria sinks under the star’s weight, and the star pops out!

“That kite is junk,” said the robins. “Throw it away and go home.”
Three robins gawk and laugh at Toad.

He was showing us the way the whole time.

Bray is a historian at Rutgers who received death threats after landing on Turning Points USA's Professor Watchlist. As a result, he announced he was moving to Europe. And then this happened.

This kind of harassment and abuse of scholars is Charlie Kirk's legacy and it's only getting worse.

“Someone” cancelled my family’s flight out of the country at the last second.

We got our boarding passes. We checked our bags. Went through security. Then at our gate our reservation ‘disappeared.’

sin that pays its way can travel freely, and without a passport; whereas Virtue, if a pauper, is stopped at all frontiers

This exact sequence of events was the cause of death for roughly 70% of all viscounts, historically.

In celebration of World Octopus Day, we wanted to revisit one of our favorite cephalopod sightings, the glass octopus — Vitreledonella richardi filmed during a month-long #PhoenixIslandsCoral expedition in 2021.

So cool that whenever someone asks the president, “did you eat the Lindbergh baby” he’s like, “no but I’d be allowed to, I have the right to, I might do it later”

He's a terrible Speaker, a terrible representative, but his actual job is to run interference for the Trump administration and the Republican party as a whole--to preserve their impunity and sabotage any action they deem undesirable. He's not terrible at that, it's just a terrible vocation.

Seeing this--and all the similar videos/images/stories of ICE just casually unloading chemical agents on people for their own amusement--I can't help but think about Trump's pardon of Eddie Gallagher. They fully intend to be sniping people with live rounds for fun some say soon.

Just based on the frog guy, I wonder if it also makes them aware that they can't claim fear of bodily harm from someone whose entire body is covered in something bouncy. Like "oh, the frog made a move? WITH WHAT HANDS, BRO?"

Heaven have mercy on us all—Presbyterians and Pagans alike—for we are all somehow dreadfully cracked about the head, and sadly need mending

Lmaoo it wasn't Michael Rapaport but it's the stunt double they use when they throw him down a flight of stairs

Guys, every person you see on Fox News in a mask is just Robert O'Neill, retired Navy Seal and occasional Fox News contributor. He's the former Antifa, former Gazan, former gang member. His eyes are very unique.

That's a huge part of trolling, actually--the troll puts on a polite show while saying things they know will get people upset, and then sit back and say "oh, look how rude you are! How toxic!"

But again, it's the troll that's the problem, even if they get dogpiled with foul language.
mrreciprocity.bsky.social
I would say that's a dangerously limited definition. If one person is politely spreading obvious lies, gish-galloping, sea-lioning, etc, and someone else tells them to "eat shit", it's the liar who is the problem.

Ok, last call! I haven't gotten very many submissions, which I'm a little surprised by. Send this to your artist friends!

I can also go through previous pitches, but I always like having a wide rolodex.

I see pieces like this a lot, often w/ a spin of lamenting cultural degeneration, but reading is a LABOR issue, it’s declined because so many people are working overtime or two jobs & employers expect after hours work. France has Earth’s highest reading rate b/c long lunch breaks & labor protections
