@mattgreencomedy.com you’re in Slow Horses! The “is this security related?” line was *chef’s kiss* coming from you.

I guess it goes with the territory of the industry I work in, but god I’m sick of the hot LinkedIn takes from PRs explaining how the Coldplay concert provides a vital lesson in crisis comms

Having thought the same about emails from colleagues, I’ve tested this in multiple LLMs and current versions literally can’t make grammatical mistakes, no matter how you word the prompt. Imagine a “fix” to feign humanity won’t be far off, though.
Maybe I shouldn’t say this, lest it be used to make LLM generated text seem more genuine, but I am more and more impressed with students who makes small grammatical errors in their papers. Because it shows they’re actually writing their papers. And that it’s hard for them and they’re *trying*.

Me: Great!
*hugs*
4: I love you, Yoshi
Me: What about daddy?
4: What about Yoshi?

So true about age here. Might be lovely to work from home when you’re older, wealthier, perhaps with a family you enjoy at home, and you’ve got a spare bedroom converted into an office. Younger with none of those things? The office looks okay!
don't want to beef with the specific person who posted this but don't understand why so many people are reluctant to understand that, actually, to quite a lot of people, the idea of just staying at home alone all week fucking sucks? wanting to leave the house and talk to people is normal!

Quite surprised by this. Lived in Chichester for three years, and while it’s quite nice, it’s not THAT nice.

What a strange way to angle this story. So… four in five Brits aged 18-45 prefer elected leaders. Hardly groundbreaking news.

Finally selling the old Land Rover. Put an ad on Facebook marketplace and that place is WILD. Just been absolutely inundated with messages. Impossible to keep up with all of them, SO much work just to get rid of a crappy old car

Every parent does this
Before the kids learned to tell the time, we would record the previous years countdown and fireworks and play it on New Years Eve whenever we wanted them to go to bed. They thought they'd seen in the new year, went bed without a fuss and we got an early night. Win-win.

Telling the boy we’re going to meet Santa today was a huge mistake. He was up at 5.30am, bursting with excitement, and has been bouncing off the walls driving himself (and everyone else in the house) stir crazy. Christmas give me strength

one of the worst things about being alive and online at the moment is that we're not meant to, say, call people thick or say they got conned and deserved it, and I think that the Hawk Tuah girl crypto scam is the end of that era for me, I *want* to call these people stupid and laugh at them

Book 17 of 2024 ✅
The One from the Other by Philip Kerr

Fourth in the Bernie Gunther series, it’s another fabulously well researched and paced whodunnit. With larger moral questions than you’d expect from a simple detective novel, plus a frenetic writing style, make it unputdownable.
