In a world of nonsensical, uncritical reporting, the work Isaac and Colin do stands out - they’re actually reporting, while many of the others (I’m looking at you, CP24) parrot and exaggerate for clicks.
🚘🕳️ Through 2025, Colin D'Mello and I invested a lot of time looking into Ontario Premier Doug Ford's dream of tunnelling under Hwy. 401. Through sourcing, freedom of information and lots of questions, here's what we found (in chronological order) #OnPoli

2> Bad media like CP24 that repeats the same crimes ever few minutes ( Toronto is a war zone if you watch)

4> Police union hype

50 ICE agents swarming a public library to arrest one person.

This isn’t policing — it’s authoritarian spectacle.
Armed intimidation, fear as policy, and taxpayer money burned to terrorize communities.

This is fascism in plain sight. #TrumpWatch #Resist

Renounced stardom, embraced bigotry.

If by “activism,” you mean ardent bigotry, I guess
Brigitte Bardot, one of cinema’s most iconic sex symbols who quit the business to focus on activism, has died at age 91.

I regret to inform you we have to reduce the character limit to the point where they have to say “racist.”

Maybe check to see how the “just following orders” defence worked out at Nuremberg before posting this vapid nonsense.
Just thinking... we give so much attention (as we should!) to the victims of state violence, ie, people sent to CECOT.

But, we give little consideration to the psychic violence suffered by those tasked with carrying out the physical violence.

Yes, they "chose" those jobs. But...

When our kids were younger, we changed all the clocks on the main floor of our house by 4 hours every NYE so we counted down at 8 PM, then tucked them in.
Hey can we just do the ball drop real quick at like 6:30 this time around? It's just it's enough with the things this year

The US is not a safe country right now. For anyone.

Also, America is treating Canada like shit for funsies, apparently.

America is a flyover state.
I suspect it's going to affect all the games, especially those not involving the US. Lotta people probably don't want to risk getting jailed by ICE, kinda puts a damper on the tourism
Watching the broadcast makes it seem like it's about half full. I wonder if many Canadian fans, despite being close, said no way to spending money in the US. I'm sure that's a factor for many.

With all due respect (which is to say: none), America is far less advanced than many countries its bamboozled jingoistic citizenry views as “Third World”.

If you can’t even trust us to assist in covering up your concentration camps, what even can you trust us for??? 🙄
The Atlantic suggesting, without evidence, that Canada's Global TV broadcasting the '60 Minutes' segment on CECOT that CBS distributed to it may have been an act of "treachery."

The Atlantic used to BE something.

Another similarity: Americans ignored it was happening until years in the last time around, too
The CBS investigation portrays a modern concentration camp, similar to the Soviet GULAG (like CECOT, an acronym): sadistic guards, 24 hour lighting, isolation cells.
Americans once opposed this inhumane system.
The Trump administration sent innocent people there to suffer.

Hey, if you live in Ontario, apparently the latest great gift Doug Ford is giving big business is expiring loyalty points (that's been illegal for a long time). It's buried in an omnibus bill.

Just a reminder that this is a change no one asked for that does nothing positive for anyone.

At almost every gate I’ve been at pre-boarding in the last several years, they’ve made an announcement asking for volunteers to check their carry-on “at no extra charge” (oooh! Lucky us!) because everyone tries to avoid paying for checked luggage and carries the max allowable size of carry-on.
So anyhow, I opened the Air Canada app to do the check-in, and after offering to check bags for me for the fee, I entered no bags. But then, something new, a notice that there probably won't be enough overhead bin space for carry on luggage. Would I like to check my carry on bag for free?

It all might make more sense if he actually were drinking. But Trump, with his "alcoholic's personality," seems even less inhibited in a way that has many in Washington shaking their heads and wondering if the leader of the free world has lost it. www.nytimes.com/2025/12/18/u...

Indeed. When he pops his clogs, we’ll pop the champagne.
For better or worse, public figures are judged when they die — their character, contributions, beliefs. It's undeniable that millions have mourned Rob Reiner's tragic death, celebrating his talent and contributions. I suspect when a certain public figure kicks the bucket, sentiments wont be the same

ROSIE: You've now lost two MPs to the Liberal Party... Is this a problem of your leadership?

POILIEVRE: No, it's a problem of Mark Carney's leadership that after Canadians clearly rejected a costly Liberal majority... he is trying to manipulate his way through backroom deals.
