We profiled refugees who:

Arrived in the country legally.

Applied for green cards.

Were arrested by ICE and detained.

One refugee who was arrested found out they got their green card after being released.

This is an unprecedented operation.

The last few years have seen the largest wave of immigration in American history. All those images we carry in our heads about people arriving at Ellis Island — we just surpassed that. Crime went down. Real wages went up. This is a fake problem. Enough is enough.

There's such a strong culture of loving the community or town you're from in Minnesota. It's unique. Ask people how they feel about Chaska or Blaine or St Paul and they can talk forever about how great it is and how much better it is than where youre from
One thing I found deeply moving about resistance in the Twin Cities was the universalism of loving your neighbor, the philosophy driving the opposition to the ICE/BP invasion. I couldn't help but notice the contrast with the blood and soil-ism of Miller and Vance. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...

The killing of Alex Pretti and the grotesque lying was an overreach by the administration. They've paid a price and had to pull back a bit. But it's when there's some disarray that the democratic opposition needs to intensify the offensive, and turn a marginal tactical success into a major victory.

One of the first lessons I learned in organizing is that you celebrate victories as they come, even if they’re incomplete. Border Patrol being pulled off our streets is a massive victory for and by the people of Minnesota. It doesn’t make our work less urgent or needed, but it’s a big-ass win.

Cool little story in my neighborhood these last couple days.

To honor Alex Pretti local groups suggested putting a lit candle on the edge of your yard next to the street.

We left two candles outside on Saturday night.

So it's 4,000. "The Justice Department said a total of 4,000 federal agents have been surged to the state, with about 2,000 coming from ICE and 2,000 coming from Customs and Border Protection. A specific number is to be provided to a federal judge some time later today."

I want you to stop and think about what kind of country we're living in when a major metropolitan paper is publishing this story. Is that the kind of country you want to live in? I sure hope not.

The people of Minnesota have executed one of the most impressive civil resistance campaigns I can remember:

- Organized a city wide general strike
- Maintained nonviolent discipline amidst violence
- Mobilized 10,000s in subzero temps to protest and watch ICE
- Flipped public opinion against ICE

The public pressure on the Trump regime is working. Here he is trying to say he's working with Tim Walz

They must have private polling that is absolutely horrible.

The people of Minnesota are doing this. Thank you for your courage!

If I had more time I would spend time hashing this out: Women's sports figures speak up bravely on issues because they know that a portion of the population hates them.
Men's teams think they can appeal to everyone so they're afraid to offend anyone.
Women's teams inherently know this is false.

100%.
The thing to remember about Chris Madel dropping out of the GOP race for governor is that the local cops VOCIFEROUSLY endorsed him, since he has aggressively defended them in court. Perhaps an indication white law enforcement (not just chiefs or minority cops) are fed up with this shit.
