Tonight, my Minneapolis neighborhood gathered on street corners and in our local park to mourn Alex Pretti.

This is our FOURTH vigil in eight months. No community should have to go through what we're going through.

Saint Paul Public Schools, one of the biggest school districts in the state, is closed for the next two days because teachers need time to build hybrid learning because unaccountable masked, armed federal government goons have made it too difficult for nonwhite children to leave their homes.

She didn't chase the spotlight—she built coalitions, held the line, and got things done. A true Minnesotan leader. Thank you, Melissa Hortman, for your steady hand and fierce heart. You made this state better. #mnleg

Since this aired, I've read a lot of ignorant comments (260+ on the Fox9 FB page alone) calling us libtards or whatever and saying we should just buy "Made in USA" toys.

We do. There just isn't much to choose from. In fact, we were strong advocates for USA toys. But we lost that battle. 🧵
