Hot take: Groundhog Day (1993) is a super underrated love story... Rita sees through his bullshit every time until he genuinely becomes a selfless person and puts other people's needs and happiness before his own. I think it's great.

Even if you don't go often, please support your local libraries and get a library card 📚 having more patrons can help protect them from budget cuts. It's important to keep literature and information easy to access, now more than ever. #booksky #reading #library

Imagine watching disaster movies like The Day After Tomorrow or 2012 and thinking that the apocalyptic weather scenes were the “unrealistic” part.

Turns out those scenes were almost bang on.

The unrealistic part was the humans working together to overcome the problem & save the world. Sigh.

I don't want my fridge to have a camera or Wi-Fi. I don't want my dishwasher to be smart. I don't want my washing machine to text me.

In fact, I kinda miss knobs and dials and knowing big appliances would last 20 years and could still be repaired.

I just finished Woman of the Hour and would like to say @oldfilmsflicker.bsky.social summed up my thoughts better than I ever could: www.rogerebert.com/reviews/woma...
Woman of the Hour movie review (2024) | Roger Ebert
Not only does Kendrick give a typically intelligent and spunky performance, but as a director, she shows a keen curiosity about the power of the gaze.

"It's Christmas Theo, it's the time of miracles" / "Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house not a creature was stirring EXCEPT the 4 assholes coming up the rear in standard 2 by 2 cover formation"
My wife saw Die Hard for the first time tonight.

She agrees that it is indeed a Christmas movie.

A Red Fox on a cold morning couldn't get enough of having fun rolling around on frosty grass. It was walking slowly across the grass when it suddenly got the zoomies! 😍

"Ronny/Lily" is the finest piece of comedy cinema I've seen in years. Major kudos to Bill Hader cause Barry is honestly incredible
Barry is a crazy ass show. A couple of the episodes are the best and most original things I've ever seen on TV

It really is quite touching.

I haven’t seen something bring people together like the UnitedHealth CEO assassination since the release of Pokémon Go.
