I'm predicting a push toward person first language soon, and when it comes, it won't be about disability. It'll be to train us to think "person who has raped" instead of "rapist". My old cult leader used to call folks like this "formerlies", as in formerly evil, now redeemed.

This! The only people who even qualify for their chairs to be covered by insurance are completely unable to get out of bed without a chair so a 6 to 12 month wait is DEVASTATING
Ordering a new wheelchair should not take 6 to 12 months.
