This is what the working class wanted.
Seems like building a multi-ethnic working class majority might need some different economic policies.

This is a stunning -43.9 change in help wanted ads for HS grads in production occupations.

Bad for everyone, but ~550% worse for HS grads than ppl with graduate degrees.

So essentially the president can do anything he wants, regardless of whether or not that’s his constitutional power, say no when told otherwise, and there’s really no mechanisms in this country to stop him? The branches of government and checks and balances were all just suggestions?

The American electorate voted to deport their Abuela over egg prices and the only thing preventing a permanent Trumpist regime is his gross mishandling of the economy, idk what else to tell you other than not helping while Trump is in office is a pretty logical response to that.

the gen z swing being so dramatic is interesting to me - a large part of it is of course being very young but they also seem an unusually *gullible* generation? in a funny way because they convince themselves that they have discovered the Real Truth online

1) the stock market is falling

2) treasury yields are rising

these two things in combination are Very Bad

I like free trade and want it to be implemented by the military at gun point.
🧵It was never going to be easy or painless to overturn decades of free-trade policies that have failed working people, but we have to think in years, not days.

Getting radicalized pretty strongly into like anti-populism, not gonna lie. Like not full on “only the elite should have the franchise” type shit, but having an intermediary level of social and political gatekeepers was very clearly necessary.
