I guess we meet next week in Basel?
nanaborsa.bsky.social
Bittersweet farewell weeks at @kiroxford.bsky.social, a place pivotal to my growth as an independent scientist. With deep gratitude for this chapter, I'm thrilled to begin the next at @unibas.ch @biomedizin.unibas.ch, where my lab will study organelle inheritance in T cells in the context of ageing.

#Immunology out now @science.org

After initial priming in the lymph nodes, mouse CD8 T cells undergo a second phase of stable interactions with dendritic cells that can preferentially stimulate those with a high-affinity for antigen.

#InterferonFriendOrFoe?! Joe Sun, Xiaoqin Wei &co show @science.org that lung macrophage peroxisomes instruct repair programs after virus infections favoring AT2 cell renewal & recovery! IFNgamma drives pexophagy, increasing mitochondrial ROS & activating inflammasomes driving KRT8 cells & fibrosis!
Macrophage peroxisomes guide alveolar regeneration and limit SARS-CoV-2 tissue sequelae
Peroxisomes are vital but often overlooked metabolic organelles. We found that excessive interferon signaling remodeled macrophage peroxisomes. This loss of peroxisomes impaired inflammation resolutio...

Despite facing up to -20°C, spent fantastic days in my first Keystone²: exciting immunometabolism discussions and (re-)encounters with brilliant and generous leaders of the field. Happy to be part of this community #KSImmunometab25

Having a color-blind colleague is a good reminder that we need to be more careful when designing figures for scientific publication 🧪
My lab has found this page especially useful for selecting color palettes, used in combination with different symbols: thenode.biologists.com/data-visuali...

After we reach advanced age, around 80, the propensity to develop cancer is markedly reduced. A discovery reported at Nature today about aged stem cells and iron insufficiency may help explain this advantage

Women are under-represented at senior levels in #academia globally, & across all #science 🧪 disciplines, as shown by these "scissor-shaped curves" ✂️

So how can we ever achieve #gender #equality?

We discuss various strategies in this #Cell Commentary
