New research in @natclimate.nature.com reveals a critical finding for coastal resilience: development policy, not just SLR, is the main driver of China's coastal flood risk by 2100. Securing the future requires reducing emissions * and * integrated spatial planning ➡️ tyndall.ac.uk/news/policy-...

A study in Nature Climate Change shows that dragonfly species with mating-associated wing ornamentation have disproportionately gone extinct and lost habitat because of climate change and wildfire. go.nature.com/4nvkfDS 🔒
This is figure 1, which shows ornamented dragonfly species have been disproportionately lost from locations with the greatest temperature increase and the most wildfire activity since the 1980s.

Scientists increasingly assess interventions against misinformation mainly via truth discernment. Tobia Spampatti argues in Nature Climate Change that pursuing truth discernment may not be sufficiently beneficial to society if interventions do not improve behaviour and other outcomes. 🧪

Nature Climate Change Focus "Cities & Climate Change" in collaboration with @natcities.nature.com

As hubs of human activity, cities are both contributors to climate change and essential actors in the fight against it. This Focus highlights content on this dual role

The image contrasts two cityscapes: one facing climate risks like rising sea levels and drought-stricken trees, the other thriving in a low-carbon future with rooftop solar panels and green spaces.

Thrilled to share my first publication in a Nature journal!

Our new article in Nature Climate Change (@natclimate.nature.com) explores whether conversations with generative AI tools like ChatGPT may help shift climate scepticism.
A mock-up of what the first page of “The promise and limitations of using GenAI to reduce climate scepticism” (Hornsey et al., 2025) article would look like printed.

What is the cost of wildfire, windthrow and bark beetles for Europe’s forestry? We estimate that disturbances reduce Europe’s forest value by €115 bn, more than doubling to €247 bn under severe climate change. Led by @johannesmohr.bsky.social, out in @natclimate.nature.com doi.org/10.1038/s415...

How expensive are 🪲💨🔥?! I can‘t believe it, but my 2nd PhD paper is finally published @natclimate.nature.com! Disturbances lower the economic value of Europes 🌲 by 29%... Climate change will increase it to up to 42%! (Now imagine a company looses 42% of its value…) doi.org/10.1038/s41558-025-02408-9

🚨 NEW: Climate change is already causing 30,000 deaths per year - a global annual economic loss of $100-350B USD - but the true damage is probably 10x higher. Out TODAY in Nature Climate Change: the first systematic look at the science of "health impact attribution" 🔓 www.nature.com/articles/s41...
"Health losses attributed to anthropogenic climate change," a brief communication in the journal Nature Climate Change. There's a map showing regions of the world, and pie charts of relevant studies as they apply to different health impacts like "heat-related deaths" and "maternal and child health"

Projects are not delivering the transformative change needed for climate change adaptation. This failure is due to the delivery of adaptation as projects. In this article, we explore real alternatives that can address the structural causes of vulnerability. DM for pdf! www.nature.com/articles/s41...

🌍 Our new study in @natclimate.nature.com shows tropical #deforestation may cause ~28,000 heat-related deaths/year.
🌳🌡️💻🛰️ Using satellite data & mortality models we quantified the impact of deforestation-driven local warming on human health in the tropics.
