Can't fault the clarity of Labour's message on protest. There are BAD protesters who must be punished (Irish musicians, anti-genocide vicars) and there are GOOD protesters whose views deserve respect (masked thugs with petrol bombs trying to start a pogrom)

Speaking to the French president, Emmanuel Macron, and the German chancellor, Friedrich Merz, on Saturday morning, the prime minister outlined the UK’s intentions to work with Jordan to carry out the plans. Continue reading...

This is a dangerous rewriting of history
What put Hitler in power was the foolish idea that he could be used temporarily to counter the left
If there is a similarity to our current predicament, it is there, in the hyping of the far right to prevent seeking radical alternatives

My pitch here is: if we think children are spending too much time online/attached to screens, then lets give them something to do that isn't slop consumption! Maybe we could allow them to exist in public without being treated with suspicion for one?

I don’t think Germany’s staunch support of Israel is merely ideological or rooted in post-WW2 guilt. I think it is largely strategic. I think it is planning for a world where Germany wishes to suppress or expel much of its non-white population. The Nazis are at 25% in the polls, for goodness’ sake.
Germany’s huge cuts to the sectors providing migration services while pumping huge money into its military points to a fundamental reshaping of German society. A hard-edged future where security is valued over community. Migrants (non-white, obviously) are mere threats to be policed and controlled.

Absolutely dystopian juxtaposition from the Guardian front page. Difficult to understand how anyone of decency and conscience can defend this government at this point. Just sheer moral degeneracy to arm a state that does this and arrest people for objecting. Wtf are we doing as a country?
