Oddly controversial take: we should work to reduce deaths from things that kill a lot of people 🤷🏻‍♂️
Turning Point USA was founded in 2012 by Charlie Kirk and Bill Montgomery

Two of their major policy pushes were a more prominent gun culture and zero COVID restrictions

Bill Montgomery died to the COVID virus

Charlie Kirk died to gun violence

Trump: We need Greenland for national protection. They have a very small population. They say Denmark, but Denmark has no military protection. They say that Denmark was there 300 years ago with a boat—well, we were there with boats too I’m sure.

Oh, for a second, I thought you were talking about Trump.
He’s a deeply self-conscious, one trick pony of a man who is desperately trying to stay relevant as he has landed in a position of power far greater than he could have imagined being in AND that is far above his skill set.

He’s trying to play both sides bc he wants power AND to be taken seriously.

Actually, that would have made the segment even scarier.
Bari Weiss wanted to cover up torture because she thought Stephen Miller's perspective was needed first.

That's the headline.

She was put in charge for a reason. And this is it.
After having watched the 60 Minutes video, I realize that I was too kind to Weiss. Her memo barely engages with the actual piece. The Alien Enemies Act is just mentioned once in its introduction. Weiss's goal is to filibuster the release of first-class reporting that is devastating to the regime.
The Weiss memo is basically a gish gallop against her team's reporting. You do not need to debate executive power before airing interviews with tortured detainees.

I totally agree. We are at an inflection point. An opportunity to create something new and independent of legacy media.
There is a tremendous opportunity for a brand new generation of media outlets to rise up right now because many news outlets that spent decades painstakingly building their credibility are seeing it torched by bootlickers with incredible speed.

@60 Minutes - Why? Afraid we Americans will examine our national conscience during the season of the Christchild, and find ourselves deeply divorced from and acting in utter contradiction to the teachings so many of us were raised on?

I don’t know how it works at the New York Times, but my editors at The Guardian would never let me publish this if they knew that I was one of the elites who spent time with Epstein. And if I published it without telling them, I would be out of a job.

By that logic, the MAGA culture is incompatible with the West.
Rep. Andy Ogles calls for a stop to all visas: "We've got to acknowledge there are certain religions and cultures that don't work here. They're incompatible with the West, with the United States of America ... they bring nothing to our nation except a drain on our resources."

I don't think it's so radical to say that anyone who denies that Biden won the 2020 election should be barred from holding public office. It is an unquestionable mark of a seditionist and on par with pledging loyalty to a foreign government or army.
PAINFUL to watch. There’s a clear Trump judicial nominee loyalty test.

They must forever deny, deny, deny that he lost the 2020 presidential election.

In fact, I would urge us to make a point of moving some future conferences to the affected countries.
For those of us in academia, it would be unethical and irresponsible to hold a major conference in the US under these circumstances.
Under the expanded ban:

- 19 countries are subject to near-total bars on immigrant or non-immigrant visas.
- 19 countries are subject to near-total bars on immigrant visas and a bar on tourist, student, and exchange visitor visas.
- Turkmenistan is subject to a near-total bar on immigrant visas.

Gaza has changed the West forever. It has demonstrated its dearth of a conscience. Its hypocrisy. Its sadism. And we will never fully recover from bearing witness to an unthinkable crime to which our leaders gave their full stamp of approval.

Instead of responding only with thoughts and prayers, Australia will respond with laws and regulations. Because, unlike the United States, it values the lives of its citizens over any sick adulation of firearms.

The 1996 Port Arthur massacre led to immediate, sweeping, bipartisan gun law reforms.
