This is a blatant attempt to price poor people out of legal gun ownership and create a database of gun owners.
If you wanted to reduce gun violence you'd fix the reason the violence happens in the first place, but doing that takes effort and isn't as performative so I can understand why you don't.

Ending violence starts at reducing the reason violence happens, not proposing bandaid solutions and hoping it goes away. To solve gun violence requires an effort to raise up poverty stricken areas and improve mental health countrywide, as well as bridge the divides expanding between cultures.
I love how half the people in the replies are all "tax bullets at [biggest number I can think of] that'll stop crime" like it would do anything other than make it unaffordable for defensive gun owners, hunters, or even cops to train at a range. It would only affect people who follow the law.
Walz: "'I don't know, do you really think limiting them to less than 100 bullets is going to do anything?' Yes! Yes it is. Yes it is going to save lives ... it's time to start reporting that that is all bullshit. It does do something. It does make a difference."
