It’s true that some MAGA supporters are losing faith in Trump and expressing frustration. But evidence and trends suggest they’re flocking to explicit Fascists and growing more radicalized.

We can’t just sit back and hope. We have to fight.

Helen Andrews is one of the best examples of how 1) being white and 2) going to the "right" kind of college can get you as far or farther than if you had actual insight or talent.

Great thread about someone who knew what our would-be tech lords were up to.
1/ A longtime Wired editor just wrote a mush-brained essay about how he totally missed the political rot of Silicon Valley (& still doesn't get it).

But in the late 1990s, a Wired journalist warned of a toxic ideology bubbling up from tech. Paulina Borsook has largely been erased. Let's change that

The vassals are carving out their fiefdoms.
The New York Times does a 24 paragraph story on Larry Ellison buying up new and old media properties and doesn't so much as HINT, anywhere, at the obvious goal of leveraging this properties to conduct right wing information warfare, or that this kind of consolidation is bad for the public

Today was a day that will live in infamy for HHS, FDA, NIH, and CMS.

Their leaders all stood up and told bald-faced lies about autism and acetaminophen, and their lies will result in doubt, misplaced guilt, and second-guessing from parents. Also will generate so much work debunking their lies 🤬🤦🏻‍♂️🙄

The concept of the corporate state was way underplayed in fascism studies for too long. The institutional union of the government, big business and the church to crush labor is the distinguishing feature of fascism.

Our would-be tech lords are appropriating religious imagery to garner support and confer legitimacy on their antidemocratic and authoritarian vision for the world.
One of the world’s most influential men is amping up apocalyptic rhetoric—adding a dangerous dose of extremism into an already-fraught culture war. trib.al/HdbXs2j

Thiel is not a theologian or scholar, but he clearly has a belief in religion as a weapon of political warfare—and he’s right.

Universities are places where left-wing ideas can be taken seriously (though not exclusively so, if one is honest), and the right cannot abide any institution that it does not dominate.

The USA has been taken over by a group of far-right extremists determined to impose their demented ideology on a country that very much does not want it. This is unfolding like a coup, and the opposition party is still not yet willing to treat it like one and fight back.
