With basically all the ballots in the city of Seattle's mayoral election counted, Katie Wilson is now above 50 percent, with Mayor Bruce Harrell sliding to 49.6 percent. They're currently within the mandatory recount requirements, but machine recounts don't generally change things much.

I will not support a deal that does nothing to make health care more affordable.

In social movement studies, we talk about how marches and protests expand the threshold of acceptable risk so that people take more and bigger social risks IN PUBLIC, EN MASSE. This is extremely important for the bourgeois white folks holding signs and building social rapport.
Not a shitpost: #NoKings is feel-good performative activism for comfortable mostly upper and upper middle class white folks and that’s good, actually. Millions of people in the streets protesting a fascist regime is good. It is good for the normie baseline to be massive displays of public dissent.

I’ve come to the very grudging conclusion that the current era ends either in violence or stepwise acquiescence to dictatorship. I don’t like either option, because it is frankly unlikely the former option ends much better than the latter. But denial of the choice is just opting for door 2.

Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.

Hey friends who are proficient at either making, coding or both: I need a simple 'universal' remote for my mom who has dementia. All of the remotes I've found only do "Power, Vol +/-, Channel +/-". I need one that also does "Play/Pause, FF/Rew" for VHS because she loves watching videos. 1/2
