My very gay fam and I do coordinated costumes every year. Typically we've dialed it in by early August. This year took longer. As we approached the third week of Sept I was like, "Ok, people, chop chop! We are running out of time!" All that to say... same.

On a lighter note: Yesterday my workplace had a company-wide training and our office manager was running around giving everyone reminders to stop work in time to attend. She bustled past me and said, "Training in two" and I replied automatically "Thank you, two."

I know this is old news now, but: The more educated you are, the more likely you are to lean left. This is why the right is cutting educational funding, and removing tons of literature, history books and science texts from schools and libraries. Stock up on banned books and educational resources!

FWIW my family lived in NYC for 9mos in the late 80's when my dad booked an off-off-broadway show there. I regularly rode the subway BY MYSELF at 9 years old to and from my PS. This is a very 80's story, but also a very NYC story. I never felt unsafe (youthful hubris? Possibly) even then.
