I think it’s a mistake to assume that she’ll actually run the place. She’ll be a roving political commissar/snitch, leave the actual work to others, and then when it fails claim she was betrayed by a woke staff and move on.

I was just thinking yesterday about how anxiety re: assimilation is weirdly modern; in most large cities (and often in the countryside) for century after century it was considered completely unremarkable to interact with people who would never be expected to know your language or share your religion

It is a tremendous irony that ‘The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail’ is a much better work of fiction than the risible ‘Da Vinci Code’ rip off but the authors of the former having claimed it was ‘historical fact’ thereby lost their reasonable plagiarism case against Dan Brown.

Does Trump genuinely not remember that he was CinC for four years during the war in Afghanistan? - and he literally struck the deal to withdraw US forces with the Taliban. (Whatever you think about the Afghanistan conflict it was not lost by being ‘politically correct’)

This feels like evidence Trump's aides are deliberately gaslighting him, which is unfortunately very easy to do with dementia sufferers (Trump did it to his father) and which aides are using to seize control of the US military for their own purposes.
