Normally, I would keep this private. But I make an exception.

2025 was the worst year of my personal and public lives.

Man, Adobe truly is one of the most one step forward, two steps back companies ever.

I got forced to update Premiere to fix FilmImpact since the effects *Adobe gave us* get watermarked when exported through Media Encoder. But now, my timeline randomly flashes and a $100+ plugin doesn't work. 🙃

I love when my thousand dollar television forces me to update the OS I never use on it, only to have said update break my soundbar’s compatibility with it the week before I have time off and can actually use my tv more often.

Looooooove it. Totally didn’t buy my first PS5 game in years/UHDs to—

I think the only good to come out of the Mets off season woes so far has been the constant reminder that loyalty is something is often manufactured, packaged, and sold to you by management while they privately work to undercut you.

Like, the absolute lack of loyalty from Stearns/Cohen, (plus)

If I may be, as the kids say, a hater for a minute: it’s also because it can’t glance at other people’s writing and go “wow, this is awful… IT SOLD HOW MANY COPIES???” when it’s worried that it can’t tell a story.

(True story that happened to me while writing my first book)
One of the many reasons AI can't produce good writing is it can't hate its own writing. It can't think to itself "Maybe I'm illiterate" during the writing process. And that's essential

every time I see an A-list actor in an ad for some slot machine phone game, I think about how Bill Murray's character in Lost in Translation doing advertisements is framed as basically the highest form of humiliation an actor could go through.

If you do ever say this to me I will use my 10-15 minute allowance of energy for the day to fuck you up in ways your up has never been fucked.
Accusing people with long Covid or other invisible illnesses of having "Munchausen syndrome" & using terms like this to deny someone's real suffering is emotional abuse

Newsflash: I continue to enjoy Baumbach movies.

A ★★★★½ review of Jay Kelly (2025)
I am such a sucker for a Baumbach movie. He knows how to mix the saccharine and cynical so damn well, and there’s always such a wonderful taste of self awareness to everything he does that never overp...

Scientists if you’re like “man I wish more people knew about X” then I humbly suggest hiring an artist to make a thing that communicates X and then put it into the world because it’s so fun, extremely “hell yeah” inducing, you gotta try it.

Fun fact, got an AI generated phishing scam that seemed to use my personal website as a jumping off point to tailor make a job that is so perfectly a fit for my skillset that it was almost too good for me to pass up.

I caught the scam because—

I was diagnosed with #HIV in 1998, when I was 30.
Many of my friends had died of AIDS. I did not expect to live to 50.
I’m 58 now.
HIV treatment works.
Treatment also makes it impossible for me to pass HIV on during sex.
Ensure HIV treatment for all.
End HIV stigma.

"I watch all videos at 2x speed." And this is why you're incapable of understanding art and will only be able to consume "content" with a hunger that can never be satiated. People spend hours/days/weeks making videos and you can't even bother to actually watch them at normal speed?

There is literally a 20 year old West Wing episode about Molly Orchansky and exactly why the poverty line is a problem, and this is why it’s important to take humanities and the arts seriously. It is often oracular, because it’s written by research nerds with an obsession for human behavior.
This is an insightful but deeply upsetting article about why everyone in the US feels poor, and why the current political situation emerges as a direct result.
