Transit/Urban planner 🚊in Cleveland. Proud 🏳️‍🌈
Tried an e-bike for the first time. It was a beast - but it did fantastically on the hills near Little Italy. I barely had pedal assist on and it provided so much power!

Thank you, my friend, for speaking out for freedom, justice, and the country we love.

"Reading builds empathy": The case for saving America's libraries
America needs "third places" like our libraries more than we ever have, both functionally and philosophically.

Unidentified men grabbing someone off the street and putting her in a car because she wrote an op-Ed. This as flatly authoritarian as anything we’ve seen in this country in a very long time.
Video of the international student at Tufts being arrested by "federal authorities" in Massachusetts has been released and it's terrifying.

They're not even uniformed officers. Just secret police thugs in hoodies and masks.

I've said this before, but we need to keep sharing this info with our friends, family, and neighbors. It isn't just that federally-funded workers are everywhere but that SO many of the things we rely on for daily life and take for granted are federally funded. They just get built or run locally.
Just learned from NPR that the federal government is the largest employer in the great Kansas City area, for example. I found it helpful to be reminded that, of course, this isn’t just about people who work and live in DC. Federal employees are in all of our communities.

1. 76% of Americans express trust in scientists, more than for police officers and school principals (Pew).
2. 80% say federal funding of science is vital to our nation (STAC)

The Union Pacific Depot in Salt Lake City has been beautifully restored and reused as the lobby of the Asher Adams hotel complete with a coffee shop and music venue. It’s gorgeous! These are the type of investments made for the traveling public that we need to be making today.
