This is among the most democratically dangerous things Danielle Smith has said.

She wants to remove all checks and balances on her power and projects herself as the embodiment of "the people."

We have left the realm of liberal democracy in this province.
Smith doubled down on her anti court rhetoric today...

She even seemed to suggest that federally appointed judges couldn't render impartial rulings and that she believed her interpretation should always be above theirs.

I am confused (but not) by people who live in Alberta and believe that Canada is ontologically incapable of authoritarian moves happening in the US right now.

I'm not saying things are as bad here, but the idea that it can't happen here because Canada has "decent people" as leaders... ho boy.

Just bought a new stove, & we're excited to get it. However, this bugs me: "Smart Wi‑Fi Enabled range – integrates Wi‑Fi connectivity for remote preheating, timer adjustments, and status checks from compatible mobile devices."

If you need to preheat your oven with your phone... no you don't.

Is it me, or does Microsoft's to-do app, its planner app, and its "My Day" page just... don't work together? Like, its not that they're buggy, but just... bad?

The UCP argues recall is being weaponized against policy, not misconduct.

By that logic, the Gondek recall was also weaponized, as it was explicitly against her policies.

The UCP's reaction to the weaponized recall on Gondek?

To make recall easier.

There is something deeply (but in all likelihood dysfunctionally) pleasurable about downloading a number of journal articles related to your current research interests that is far too massive for you to actually read in the near future.

2. They lowered the # of sig’s req’d & increased the time req’d & winked to the separatists.
3. Lukaszuk got more sig’s on his pro-Cdn petition than anyone dare dream.

They’re realizing ppl are super-pissed with THEM.

QANON CULTIST IN 2017: "In this 1,879 page thread I will unravel the byzantine system of codewords and phrases the global elite use to mask their pedophile cabal."

JEFFREY EPSTEIN WRITING AN EMAIL AT THE SAME TIME: "helo its me jeff had fun cmmitting sex crimes wit u lst weeknd"
pretty funny in retrospect that QAnon hinged on the idea that powerful elites at the highest levels of government were smart enough to talk in code when sending emails to each other about their despicable crimes

Someone stole a chunk of the Homeless Jesus statue at my university. What the Hell. Someone suggested it was done for scrap metal, which I guess makes as much sense as anything, but still. Wtf. calgary.citynews.ca/2025/11/12/c...

Sociology. The discipline that lets Reed Richards be his worst self.

(I'd argue that sociology is much closer to "psychohistory" as it appears in Asimov and Marvel Comics than the actual discipline of history. Especially in its more ambitious and functionalist forms)
