More councils consulting kids about play spaces is crucial imo. Teenage girls often want something different from their public play areas than basketball half courts and skate parks.
Playgrounds are designed to keep our kids safe. But are they holding them back?
Beyond playgrounds: how less structured city spaces can nurture children’s creativity and independence

Terrible, important read from Everyday Sexism founder Laura Bates. Can be summed up with this closing line from chapter 3 - men’s dicks always trump women’s rights. And these emoji 🤬🤢

Turns out it’s ’growth, growth, growth’ but the thing we’re growing is cruel incompetence
What an absolute fiasco. Peters and Willis have blown $507.3 million of our tax dollars, and it's still estimated to rise.

These "prudent fiscal managers" are burning cash with nothing to show for it.

Aotearoa can't afford this rotten govt.

But, while these ads are creative, do they change the way we feel about brands such as Tesla?

The way Tamatha Paul, easily one of the most inspiring politicians in Aotearoa right now, is being treated by both political leaders and the media is biased and wilfully misses her point.
Tamatha Paul is completely correct, write three criminologists including AUT's Grace Gordon.

Police beat patrols make some people feel unsafe. Paul is being shouted down not because she said anything ridiculous, but because she said something sensible, they say.

Is Tamatha Paul in ‘la-la land’? Here’s what the evidence says
A history of negative experiences of policing will affect how some communities view the police – and it's crucial that the opinions of these communities are heard.
