No Fun Toronto
@nofunto.bsky.social
Toronto is full of folks who refuse to have fun, we are their biggest fan…
We will be giving an award to Councillor Pasternak who is going to single handedly get the new stadium shut down for good!
Toronto councillor says ‘something must be done’ about Rogers Stadium noise
A Toronto city councillor says the noise coming from Rogers Stadium is too loud and is calling on the venue’s operator to turn down the volume.

The star won’t rest until it gets jet skis banned from Lake Ontario entirely…honestly their reporting for Team No Fun Toronto often goes above and beyond…this summer we ban jet skis, next summer we target evil tricycles!!!

Here is Blog TO with another one sided anti-fun article - the best kind! There is no way the city should consider figuring out a way to accommodate these businesses...just shut them down and give the waterfront back to coal barges... www.blogto.com/city/2025/08...
Toronto police are cracking down on a growing issue along the city's waterfront
Toronto boaters and boat rental companies likely aren't too thrilled about recent changes to the city's beaches, some of which now have (or soon will…

We thought Hanlans was was all about love and inclusion…guess not…let’s ban the thing we don’t like! That will send a message of tolerance to exactly the people who need to hear it! Coexistence with the thing we don’t understand isn’t possible! Let’s not even try…
Closest I've ever got into a physical fight is when two jet ski bros rode up fast and beached their machines on Hanlan's beach amid everyone sitting on that beach. They've no place near any beach with humans on it.
Maybe this is my grumpiest take but jet skis suck and make Woodbine beach an objectively worse place for everyone except the 5 guys (it's always guys) on the jet ski. Go for a swim, losers. www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/toron...

Here we go again, from the same guy who went after kayak rentals in the beaches. This guy just doesn’t want anyone to have any fun in this city…we love him!!!
Councillor Brad Bradford's motion to ask the port authority to ban jet skis at Woodbine Beach is added to the agenda via show of hands. It gets held for debate so they'll come back to it. secure.toronto.ca/council/agen...

Only in Toronto could sitting on the top of a parking lot staring at the sun be considered “something special”…although the potential for deputations on licensing GreenP parking lots to sell alcohol would definitely be something special…
Sad to see Green P using private security to clear people from a rooftop where no one parks and folks just want to enjoy the view. Take a cue from London’s Frank’s Café in Peckham—Toronto is sitting on something special. Let people enjoy it. #TOPoli

Hell no! We want car share on the island or nothing…bikes in parks…what a crazy idea…
Residents and visitors can explore the Toronto Islands this summer in a fun, convenient and sustainable way with
Bike Share Toronto!

Rent bikes in four convenient locations: Ward’s Island, Centre Island, Hanlan’s Point ferry docks and Hanlan’s Beach.

Come on, @johnlorinc.bsky.social should know better…our most beloved public space is already tolled and restricted…the question is how much more can we charge people trying to leave to Muskoka on the 407, not why we would want to…

Reposted without comment….
But Councillor Holyday has concerns. And a motion to deem this High Park shuttle as an "amusement."

Perks laughs. "You're an amusement!" Perks says to Holyday.

Holyday asks the speaker to make Perks stop insulting him.

It’s hard to argue with the folks on ward island about this, because nobody wants bikes in parks…but we will - their anti-car and anti-bike stance when it comes to this specific park really makes them seem like NIMBYs and not true blue NO FUN Torontonians…let the cars in! More pavement in parks!
Island NIMBYs are the final boss level of Toronto NIMBYs

We love where @paulafletcherto.bsky.social is going with this…let’s not even investigate it and just get straight to no…
Fletcher teeing up her argument against an eastern gap bridge, getting staff to acknowledge there are no bridges in Toronto with footings built on top of protected wetlands, and that a bridge would need to be built on land controlled by Ports Toronto.

Our people!
On next week’s Council agenda: Councillor Mike Colle wants to reverse a previous decision to install bike lanes on Marlee Avenue. Some local residents objected to the plan, circulating a petition claiming the bike lanes would cause a “Decrease of Quiet Enjoyment.” secure.toronto.ca/council/agen...

Capitalized? Seriously? It's too soon after the election to be doing that to us...
I've had four hours of sleep, I'm going on The Agenda with Steve Paikin, I don't know what's gonna come out of my mouth, but we're gonna have FUN @tvotoday.bsky.social

We're about to succeed at killing this program...just watch us...instead of being stuck at a table in the middle of the road eating a burger, you will be stuck in your car in the middle of the road delivering a burger to someone sitting in their home where they will eat the burger...

We are well on our way to having a wasteland with a giant unusable parking lot on the waterfront, and no spa…this has been a coordinate effort by all levels of government…good work everyone!!

Oh hell no!!!
Councillor Josh Matlow wants a report in Q4 on "options to provide more food and beverage offerings in parks.” Envisions "small huts serving hot chocolate and coffee adjacent to outdoor rinks to kiosks serving sandwiches surrounded by picnic tables.” Cool. secure.toronto.ca/council/agen...

A quasi judicial body that can ruin a developers day, suck the joy out of the city and blow up the costs to build…with public hearings! What’s not to love…

We’re all skeptical…that’s what’s wonderful about Toronto…we will skeptic this to death…where it belongs…
Matt is correct that Toronto could explore some ways to more commercially activate its parks but alas we're a city that thinks "walking dogs" and "children playing" are things worth prohibiting so let's just say I'm skeptical!
My @thestar.com column this week: So it turns out allowing drinking in some parks didn’t cause the literal end of days.

With that proof, it’s time to start thinking about what else Toronto can do to make its parks more active, appealing and fun. www.thestar.com/opinion/cont...

Surely an administrative error…invited back?!
So I accidentally came across the Tomagotchi club at Allan Gardens today???

Apparently they originally scheduled an unauthorized meeting here some time ago, got kicked out, but eventually got invited back for official semi-regular events??

We always knew that Brad Bradford was one of us…we are hoping that we can convince him to get the city to reindustrialize the entire waterfront and keep all the pesky watercraft “enthusiasts” away…maybe an oil or mercury spill could be arranged… www.thestar.com/news/gta/thi...
This Toronto ‘pirate’ finally earned a legit spot for his waterfront kayak business. Then the local councillor stepped in
An investigation by the Star uncovered a behind-the-scenes battle that derailed a competition to award kayak rental locations along the Toronto’s waterfront.
