I just saw an old white man compare David Hogg to himself in his youth “shutting down the Vietnam War” and honestly white people are pathologically sick.

DUFFY: I'm concerned about the whole airspace. The equipment that we use much of it we can't buy parts for new.

Once again, the relevant fact here is that the Secretary of Conmerce is lying to the American public.
There is no evidence that countries and businesses will “primarily eat the tariff.”
Lutnick: "We do expect a 10 percent baseline tariff to be in place for the foreseeable future ... what happens is the businesses and the countries primarily eat the tariff."

Bash: "Well, okay, most economists disagree with you on that and we have seen it passed off time and time again to the American consumer."

Amazing. Not sure my aunt could have handled this sort of program, even if she’d been properly cared for. (Wrote about her two years ago: www.theatlantic.com/magazine/arc...) But to think we’ve gone from warehousing the disabled to this…! I could cry. www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/20...

Growing up in the '70s I'd read about strongman rulers in far-off places like Asia or Africa who had billion-dollar Swiss bank accounts and mansions in the French Riviera while their citizens were mired in poverty, and wondered how that could be allowed to happen

For the umpteenth - but almost certainly not last time - the institutions of the American economy depend on the institutions of American democracy.
I really don't see how rights are irrelevant because the economy is all that matters.

Even if you think the economy is by far the most important thing, rights are a crucial part of a well-functioning economy. The White House's attack on rights in the US is bad on it's own AND harming the economy.
