We’ll be showing up outside 650 Capitol Mall at 5:30pm to send a message of solidarity to the immigrant people detained at this federal building. Its not an appropriate place for holding people but ICE continues to use it as a makeshift jail.

If the idea that antifascism requires a diversity of tactics (especially when the state expands its weaponization of law) makes you even remotely uncomfortable, I would encourage you to read Mark’s book and other antifascist literature.

We need everybody, w/all antagonism directed towards fascists.

It’s true that sometimes the law holds back Trump and affords us some semblance of safety.

But the more we lean into the law as our shield, the more powerful it will become as a sword when Trump changes it in his favor and wields it against us.

Only mass antifascism, legal or not, can save us.

Jesus Christ. DHS has held this guy in the hospital handcuffed to a bed and under constant guard for over a MONTH without ANY warrant or even ANY steps taken towards putting him into the removal system!

Petitioner’s counsel has requested documentation of a judicial warrant for his arrest, any charging documents, or other authority supporting his detention. See Santiago Decl. ¶¶ 18–20. ICE has provided no response. Id. To date, ICE has not placed Petitioner in removal proceedings, charged him with violating immigration law, set bond, issued a Notice to Appear, or otherwise processed him. See Pet. ¶¶ 16, 49. In Respondent’s Opposition brief, the government states “ICE intends to take further action consistent with the laws prescribed under the Immigration and Nationality Act (“INA”) once Petitioner is released from medical care and it can conduct the examination as [prescribed] in 8 C.F.R § 287.3.” Opp. at 4. Neither Petitioner nor Respondents have provided the Court with information about Petitioner’s citizenship, whether he has violated any law or regulation, or any information that would suggest that Petitioner is a flight risk.

Arkansas police pulled over an Indian GrubHub driver wh ois married to a U.S. citizen. They found a bottle of Opium-brand perfume, arrested him for narcotics possession, and turned him over to ICE, where he was held for 30 days.

He has now been stripped of his immigration status.

Very dumb. But this is Border Patrol. I point that out because the guy in charge of the Chicago operation is the same guy who was in charge of the LA op; Gregory Bovino, a long-time Border Patrol agent who was/is El Centro Sector Chief.

Border Patrol are the cowboys of DHS; more aggro than ICE.
