As someone with depression I spend a lot of time thinking about why I like things that are tragic and morose.

So much of my life I've spent being sad and feeling bad about it. But art that makes me feel sad does so in a way that is safe and feels good.

More than good. It feels extraordinary.

(More or different awards do not change the material conditions of making games, a more robust ecosystem of criticism does)

Been playing Project ECCO by @moreblueberries.bsky.social lately and I am really enjoying my time with it. A solo journaling game that gives you a lot of tools to play with and leaves you with a unique artifact at the end: a planner touched by multiple time travelers.

If you wanna see indie creators succeed, remember you can always write reviews, talk about your play experience, do shoutouts, plenty of stuff that helps so much since there's only so many places that offer us outreach, especially if we are outside of the D&D/OSR space

i lost my truck the week before my eviction and had to abandon all my possessions and dump all my meager savings into a uhaul that ive been sleeping in with three dogs and another trans woman. im a broke ass bitch in a new city running out of everything

Cool archival stuff from Orwell's life that I wasn't expecting. And I think it makes effective use of all the different adaptations of 1984.

But ultimately it's a 100-level course when I'm starving for advanced lessons.
