apparently i’m intolerable.

Okay so rewatching arrested development and I had completely not realized how perfectly it captures the chaotic landscape of sexuality that we went through in the 2000s. 🥳🥳🥳🥳👄

Healthy. Spare. Kidneys. Walking around. Unused.

This is the person in charge of the Center for Disease Control.

In a country driving the vast majority of its citizenry towards abject poverty, they are soft launching the ability to SELL ONE’S ORGANS. This shit is so ghoulish I’m at a loss.
New acting director of CDC Jim O'Neill expressed being pro paid organ donation.

"There are plenty of healthy spare kidneys walking around, unused."

Real life example of how journalists and editors can bend statistics by selectively generalizing/misunderstanding/misquoting, to suit the media company’s corporate agenda.

That’s all well and good for Lloyd, but what about those of who want to die right now?
Lloyd Kahn trail runs, skate boards, has fitness equipment throughout his house, and keeps up a half acre property in rural Marin County.

He is also 90 years old.

You can be inspired by this remarkable elder here (gift)
He’s 90. He’s still skateboarding. Advice on aging from Lloyd Kahn
Our reporter saw a 90-year-old competing in the grueling Dipsea trail race earlier this year, and had questions. This Bay Area super-ager has answers … and took us skateboarding.

When a cancelled performer reënters the culture, we expect them to offer us a great work, channelling their newfound clarity into the finest art they’ve ever made. With his new comedy show and début novel, has Louis C.K. met the bar?

I don't like that mushroom/fungus Pokémon are classified as 'grass' type. Fungi make up a massive biomass of the world, and are distinct from both the animal and plant kingdoms.

Why do animals have a much broader range of 'types' whereas fungi and plants are grouped in together????

Introduce yourself with 5 animals you've seen in the wild:

Foxes
Raccoons
A Tawny Owl, once <3
City rats (it counts!)
Lynxes/Bobcats*

*I didn't SEE them, but there was this chirping sound I kept hearing; assumed it was local wild turkeys. it wasn't until later that I leaned it was a lynx call. 😻

Deer
Northern cardinal
Brown bear

Who's out there normalizing not having a fucking clue what's going on, in a charming, self-depricating way that projects how identifiable it is to be entirely out of one's depth, and that it's okay to have no idea, as long as you just... go with it? That's normal. That SHOULD be normal.

Honestly, what I had hoped the goal of cancellations was to provide an opportunity for these people to re-ignite their platform with salient reflection and self-criticism. I dunno what's going on here, but with instances with Ellen, it was kinda like: "Well. That happened. But whatever."

When you've been in a situation where you're connected to a person who puts themself at the centre of the world, thinking a thought that goes like: "I would like it if someone thought I was the coolest, bestest person in the world" feels like arrogance and entitlement.

I feel like I'm the only person who enjoys unsolicited nudes. Seems like after covid that went out of vogue, even on Grindr. Does it still happen to women at the same rate as before? Or has our culture changed so much?

I think the best attitude we can take is angered annoyance. We have the research, data, and science on our side. Project how sick of the debate we are, just to let trans people be people. The bigots getting worked into a frenzy, without anything from which to react, will make them seem much crazier.
"In recent history, the Doctor Who actor has repeatedly made headlines thanks to his allyship towards trans and gender non-conforming people – most notably with a subtle gesture during a TV interview that wound up helping to raise £18,000 for the LGBTQ+ youth charity AKT."

Okay so Horseshoe Maximalism has hit... though wondering if it'll have legs. There's a strange contradiction I'm seeing in it:

While the idea considers the death of estbalishment narrative(s)... It is built on a model of left and right politics: which is itself an establishment narrative.

Author, writer, photographer here. I’m all honesty, I feel far more ‘creative’ when I am engaging with art, deconstructing it—distinguishing what I like from what I would do differently—than I do when I’m actually sitting down to make my own art.
“Poor people have a right to art!”

They sure do. So get to it.

I’m not entirely convinced I’m not Clarice Lispector.

Which would be a great person to get reincarnated from… if it wasn’t for the fact that I’ve spent my life being told I’m someone else.

Who/what/why/when am I? However, I would rather be anywhere than where I am now.

I really like the 4th one. Small and simple. Reminding you of your role as a person.
Yesterday my partner and I counted all the ads along Chicago's Brown Line for "Friend," a company selling an AI chatbot pendant, and tallied how many of those ads were defaced.

Still working on a longer piece on this, but here's the quick and dirty: we counted 104 "Friend" ads total, 42 defaced.
