Many thanks to Mandy Gregory for sending on these images of the white throated needletail over @tophilllow.bsky.social yesterday. Perhaps it remembers where East Yorkshire’s premier insect diner is…

Following a large movement of Whooper Swans yesterday morning (92 recorded over the #LDV) it was nice to see six had arrived overnight on the limited flooding at Bank Island this morning - few Redwings starting to move too @yorkbirding.bsky.social

Crazy afternoon! Dashed to the patch @tophilllow.bsky.social for the needletail. No sign. Then the news came out from @rspbbemptoncliffs.bsky.social so a mad dash. Made it with about 10 min to spare

Well that wasn't on my bingo card for today, even when news broke at Tophill. My kids missed the train home due to a slow bus, and so I was in Bridlington when the White-throated Needletail was refound at Bempton #birding #yorkshirebirding

Our group refound the East Yorkshire White-throated Needletail at Bempton Cliffs this afternoon. Unbelievable moment when it shot through as we were watching a Barn Owl! Raced down to cliffs to relocate and initially no sign, but it then reappeared and we had it flying over our heads 🤯🤯
