Cool, excellent. My colleague who is slightly younger than me recalls the music video being on TV here in NZ in the late 90s (album is '96 which tracks). The key thing is I haven't deja vu'd myself - it absolutely crossed over here for at least a little bit.

See that was gonna be my second question. I was Quaker youth groups (no tradition of Christian rock there, they were all into REM) but that song in particular is deeply familiar to me and I've been trying to work out why.

The "fa" is like "make" or "do", "air" is English, and "puisu" is a slang term for nose. So the intended meaning is "go put some (fresh) air up your nose" but it's just completely mangled.

My wife's family are Samoan and we have ended up just importing some phrases that make no real sense in either language from her mum in particular. The favourite is probably "go fa'air your puisu".
