New Zealand’s land and sea temperatures in 2025 were the highest in 151 years of records, prompting a new campaign from @climateclubnz.bsky.social to swap one car trip a week to walking, cycling or public transport.

New tunes - an old-fashioned 2 track single. This is a bit different from the last releases on account of I actually sing on one of the songs. The other one builds on the first by recontextualising its chord pattern in a totally different style. I like it!

This is a cool series - work by local writers, some who have never been published, and almost all the narration is by the writers themselves.

This is true but also the converse - doing deportations without all the violence and terror is unsatisfying to the people who really want deportations.
One of the most telling ways of how we ended up here is Americans are fine with terror as long as they don't have to make eye contact with it.
Obama deported 3 million illegal immigrants during his time in office and I don’t remember a single scene like this.

The Witch's Circle is a micro-RPG for 2-6 players, inspired by "For the Queen" and "My Life with Master", and created for the #48WordRPGJam

I tried to squeeze background, meaningful storytelling, and an endgame in under 48 words. Every word earned its place.

I thought the version of Constantine that ran for 1 season back in 2014 had the potential to go good places. Series finale showed all the signs of a rushed shutdown. Real bummer.

Something has shifted in the algo-wind over on Fb again. Suddenly my feed is all very local, very small-scale attempted-influencers doing damage control posting over what seems like very small stakes call outs.

Specifically this one rapper (who uses chat gpt to write rhymes) and his Mrs....

We took the dogs for a walk and saw an bunny. I didn't think they liked being out so late in the day (was 1pmish) but it was pretty cloudy so maybe that's close enough to twilight? Dogs, hilariously, were maybe 3 or 4 meters from this guy (on leads) and totally oblivious.

Either that or (more likely) spend €1.2 trillion annually on ways to kill each other.

As the world gets hotter and the weather more extreme, the impacts of climate change will drive an increase in violence, including armed conflicts.

Money will be spent on war, not climate adaptation.
At 2°C warming, the world will need to spend $1.2 trillion annually to protect everyone exposed to climate hazards, or almost 1% of GDP in affected places, write McKinsey Global Institute's Mekala Krishnan, Annabel Farr, and Kanmani Chockalingam. bit.ly/3KTOfvJ
Climate Adaptation More Than Covers Its Cost
Mekala Krishnan, Annabel Farr and Kanmani Chockalingam estimate the level of investment needed to protect vulnerable places and show why the payoff is much larger.
