They probably got the memo that Johnson can't whip the house. bsky.app/profile/stem...
So what happens?

Well, the likelihood of the House GOP passing this bill is between 0 and absolute 0. It would be seen as a betrayal by THEIR base.

But it does mean that Dems get the 218th discharge vote for the Epstein files.

It also means that Dems can filibuster the NEXT House bill.

There's a good chance spineless Johnson can't whip House Republicans into voting for it. And reports are Johnson is finally swearing in the Dem Rep, so the Epstein files will be the big story soon.

Thanks!

The only good news is Trump and Johnson are so incompetent that it might not go through. Or that it will backfire spectacularly. This is not the actions of someone who just won. bsky.app/profile/atru...

My statement on the funding deal to reopen government, protect federal employees, and vote to protect health care:

You absolutely should be! This is a stupid risk and likely could have zero positive results. It's just luckily we aren't at the end of hope yet
November 10, 2025 at 12:44 AM
Like I said, accidentally. We should still backlash, but there's a nonzero chance this forces Johnson to reopen the house and swear her in
November 10, 2025 at 12:11 AM
This supports the idea that Dems might accidentally succeed because House Republicans or Trump refuse the deal. bsky.app/profile/stem...

The backlash is good to keep Dems from caving in the future. But it looks quite possible Dems cave and Republicans refuse the deal anyway. Either Trump or house Republicans. Additionally it's possible this forces the Dem rep to be sworn in, and the Epstein vote. bsky.app/profile/stem...
Folks, we need to have a little Civics #101 chat, because apparently the media no longer seems fit to explain to you whats happening.

So quick review:

The House passed a clean CR.

The senate has not passed anything.
November 9, 2025 at 11:56 PM
I believe Dems should face massive backlash to this, but I also agree it might work out to a degree. It's ironically a huge risk by "moderates." They are relying on the house to decline the offer but still convene on the Epstein files. That's a risky move.

"On November 7, USDA notified the States that it was implementing full SNAP benefits for November, and would "complete the processes necessary to make funds available.”

Basically, USDA pulled a bait-and-switch on the states, saying they would fully fund SNAP and then filing for an emergency stay.

Thing is they don't answer phones on Sundays. So is there a better way to get ahold of them?

Easy lives, no. Houses and jobs? Yea. The baby boom post WW2 was the result of that. There were large periods of time where people were basically handed free land, although this was often due to horrific colonization and dangerous occupations.

I still think advocating green data centers is probably better long term than hating AI.
November 9, 2025 at 1:57 AM
Nah, the point is we use stuff that help fascism. Your phone, your computer, your Internet, heck even this website to a degree all support fascism. Hating AI isn't the same as fighting fascism. Also any money AI uses towards fascism comes from companies like Microsoft or Google.

I hate to inform you of this thing called taxes. Or gasoline. Those power fascism too
