A Battle with My Blood
When I was diagnosed with leukemia, my first thought was that this couldn’t be happening to me, to my family.

There’s nothing like being on vacation and scouring pharmacies for the life saving immunosuppressants your husband takes because he’s effectively out of them (rationing at this point) and the local pharmacy f’ed up his prescription and underfilled it for months and now insurance won’t cover more.

authors you have the chance to do the funniest thing right now
AI advocates have warned that if every author in the class action filed a claim, it would "financially ruin" the entire industry.
Authors celebrate “historic” settlement coming soon in Anthropic class action

There are mass layoffs and the cost of coffee went up 41%. People are being told to go back to the office four or five days a week, which means increased costs for commuting, lunches, clothes, hair, makeup and childcare again.
Q: Would a $2,000 tariff dividend check going to people be inflationary?

Bessent: Maybe we could persuade Americans to save that.

In 48 other states, new moms have access to Medicaid for up to one year after they give birth. Not in Wisconsin.

There, the limit remains two months. And it’s only because of one man: Assembly Speaker Robin Vos.

Scenes from Forest School yesterday. There was a lot of water, and we played in it. I’m thankful for something that makes me get out of the house with my child even when it’s warm and cozy at home.

This relative advantage means that, even if they are relying on government programs like welfare or Medicaid, Trump supporters can see themselves as the "deserving" poor while disparaging others who are worse off than they are for being "lazy" and making "bad choices." 1/
Here's what I wish people understood: Trump supporters in poorer areas are generally the wealthy people in those areas -- the people who have kept their neighbors poor.
The tribune of the poor, the downtrodden? Studies clearly indicate that Trump’s most ardent supporters, especially in poorer areas, are, by local standards, quite wealthy / financially stable. Economic anxieties are mostly downstream from anxieties over racial and cultural status.

This is where the U.S. is for kindergarten vaccine exemptions.

If every state allowed only medical exemptions from childhood vaccine requirements for school entry, as it should be in my opinion, this problem would disappear.

And it’s not just the overall rate, it’s the clustering of exemptions.
