I have recently been working with local charity Walk Wheel Cycle Trust to unlock more disused land.

That's why I supported a new Lib Dem policy which recognised the importance of access to nature, alongside converting more disused railways to walking and cycling routes.

Transport should be an enabler of a thriving economy, social mobility, and preventing climate change, and I will campaign for affordable and reliable public transport, walking and cycling, and roads that work for all.

Further to this, all the characteristics mentioned by Mahmood already have to be met to get ILR (salary, English, life in UK test, clean criminal record, no welfare benefits) other than this weird Duke of Edinburgh style volunteering thing that they cannot possibly implement.

I do think we sometimes forget:
1. We need high-skilled migrants to keep the NHS working, and to grow the economy
2. High-skilled migrants have a *lot* of choices over where to go

And

3. We’ve been getting less attractive as a destination for years anyway (wages here famously suck)

The UK’s space sector is a hub of excellence, exemplified by Harwell Campus in my constituency. However, the 2021 National Space Strategy is outdated. That's why at Conference I supported ‘A New Hope for the Space Industry’, urging the Government to review the strategy and secure UK leadership.

At the @libdems.org.uk Conference, I spoke to ITV alongside @jessbrownfullermp.bsky.social about how people feel disillusioned with Labour and the Conservatives.

Lib Dems, however, are working hard to provide communities with a positive, hopeful voice.

It was fantastic to attend the Climate Matters event on Thursday evening last week in Oxford (organised by Witney MP Watch), where @rozsavage.bsky.social, Lord Deben and Dr Pete Sudbury spoke about the need to change dialogue in regards to climate change.

It was great to visit RWE in Didcot B Power Plant where I learnt about how power is generated, both in our constituency, and across the country. Who knew one of the three main stations in Britain not running a deficit would be right here in Didcot?

I hope politicians from all parties come together to condemn his deeply dangerous and irresponsible rhetoric.

I’ve signed this letter calling for full parliamentary scrutiny of the EHRC’s guidance.

Trans people deserve clarity, dignity, and safe access to services - not uncertainty and exclusion. Parliament must ensure that any guidance reflects lived experience and protects everyone’s rights.

The recent government reshuffle is deeply disruptive. It does nothing to tackle the economic challenges we face, whilst derailing upcoming plans to hold the Government to account, with meetings and scrutiny opportunities now in disarray.

This is not the behaviour of a competent government.
