On a personal level, I was never particularly offended by the R-slur, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little disturbed by the rabid zeal with which it's been re-adopted.

I think it's wrong to frame generative AI tools as granting the unskilled an ability to do skilled tasks. What it's really doing is making it possible to make things that weren't worth the effort for skilled people to do.

Y'know something? I think committing to a binge-watch is actually easier if you have physical media, a single disc is a much more manageable chunk to get the head around consuming at a time than a nebulous amount of readily-available episodes.
I wish I'd kept more of my old collection than I did.

Y'know something? I think committing to a binge-watch is actually easier if you have physical media, a single disc is a much more manageable chunk to get the head around consuming at a time than a nebulous amount of readily-available episodes.

Watched The Mummy Returns earlier, and something I somehow didn't notice before, when they fight, Rick has no way of knowing Imhotep is mortal at that point, so he just thinks it's the same immortal superbeing, and he's in there throwing hands regardless.

Burnout is clinically understood as a combo of 6 factors—work overload, lack of control, insufficient rewards, breakdown in community, absence of fairness, & value conflicts—and only a fraction of it is under your control. Burnout is a systemic problem, so be kind to yourself and hard on the system.
Hey gang I've had to learn recently that the whole "burning out" thing is real so if you find yourself being panicked every waking second that you're not working on something, despite those seconds being very rare, you should maybe listen to the signals and take an intentional break before you crash
