Explain your username: ooothepaul

For reasons that were never made clear to me my friends began referring to me as "The Paul" but only when talking *about* me, never to me. The first I heard of this was when a loose acquaintance once saw me out and about and shouted "ooo, the Paul!" Ala Toy Story.

My partner hosts a cookie swap around Christmas every year. This year, she opted to try her hand at candied oranges. It took a couple of attempts and a bit more science than we initially expected, but they came out perfectly.

My partner was on a clean today and discovered this abandoned kitten, officially bringing our feline tally up to three. No clue what we'll name her, any suggestions?

This might be the best dinner I've ever made. Squid ink risotto, scallops and shrampies.

What do you do when you're 40 years old and develop a spot of vitiligo in the shape of a ghost on your arm?? Obviously:

What’s a single frame from a film that could hang in an art gallery? #filmsky

Some nights when I lie beside you, I listen to your breath. Through the darkness I can just make out the movement of your chest, rising and falling. Before I drift off, my mind wanders to what comes next. When the time comes that your eyes or mine resist the dawn, where will we find ourselves?

I've had the urge to draw recently but not badly enough to track down my art supplies. Instead, I downloaded Draw With Friends. I was pleased with this one.

Shit. Yeah, this pretty much sums it up.
one of the worst feelings as an artist is when you have lots of ideas for what you want to draw but no time, then when you have the time you have no motivation, then when you have the motivation you have no ideas

I like to write. For years I've been down on myself because that fact hasn't been enough to actually *get* me to write. I've told myself it's because I don't have any ideas, or anything to say.

Are there any mobile friendly versions of #pictionary out there? I've been possessed of an urge to play but digging through the play store hasn't yielded much that feels worth a damn. Give me #drawful on Android, dammit

I wrote "not a lot of reasons to sing, but enough" during the first trump admin. It's an abolitionist sci-fi poetry book following two poets (one of whom is a robot) as they make their way from village to village, across a prison colony moon. *And* it's got @marcheriest.bsky.social's gorgeous art.

So, I read smart people.

There is a playbook for this next chapter.

I believe we can do this. It won’t be easy, but the map is there.

I'm seeing a lot of generalities in my time line... "Take action", "prepare", "get ready" vis a vis life between now and inauguration day. Can anyone point me to any resources or threads that gets more specific? What does getting ready actually look like? How does one resist effectively?
