Representing Roman Abramovich - a sanctioned Russian oligarch - while serving as Conservative shadow Attorney-General risks a huge conflict of interest.

Kemi Badenoch needs to make a choice. Either Lord Wolfson continues as shadow AG or advises Abramovich.

He can’t do both.

Just a political rant, people are so freaking apathetic. Special election tonight in our county and out of 1M registered voters, 162K of us bothered to vote. What is wrong with people?

This isn’t gaffe level incompetence; it’s a fundamental inability to distinguish aggressor from victim.

No country should ever be represented like this.

Future textbooks won’t struggle with this moment. 👇

What a pity that we have to negotiate with someone who remains relatively reasonable only until his next phone call with his favorite bloody dictator, who feeds him one outrageous lie after another.

At this point, Trump is not a mere politician but a symbol—a representation of the Schmittian capture of America under his watch. If you're a supporter, you know with full conviction that there's nothing you can do that he wouldn't pardon. You support Trump—that's the only thing that matters.

Is it bad that nobody justifiably believes anything Putin says while the President of the United States believes everything he says?

Two Express articles about the Gibraltar deal, published a mere 4 days apart.

Apparently it's both a massive Brexit betrayal and a huge Brexit win.

God honestly. Doesn’t this just sum up Reform. And their plastic patriotism.
Can’t even give a straight answer or follow the rules on their unbelievably naff merch.
So on brand.
Oh well. You sell or wear one of these, you’ve told us all we need to know about you.

Farage apparently wants to sort out London's 'terrible' crime rate.

Also:

The crime rate in Farage's Clacton is 25% higher than in London.

Zelenskyy calls Russia’s claim of a strike on one of Putin’s residences a “complete fabrication,” a lie designed to sabotage diplomacy, justify more attacks on Kyiv, and excuse Moscow’s refusal to end the war. He warns the world must not stay silent as Russia tries to derail peace.

Poverty is a policy choice. Concentrated wealth is a policy choice. Inequality is a policy choice. None of it is natural or inevitable. Remember: We have the power to build a system that serves the many, not the powerful few.

Zelensky lands in Miami. Not a single US official is on hand to greet him. In the language of diplomacy this send an unequivocal message of coldness and hostility. Compare it with the lavish pomp and red carpet shown to Putin when he landed in Alaska a few weeks ago.

No one has ever been able to adequately explain what Putin is meant to have thought NATO expansion would threaten him with, apart from limiting his expansionist ambitions.

"He was worried they'd invade Russia."

No he wasn't.

He just wasn't.

That's not a thing anyone thought might happen.
this is the simple answer to people who keep saying NATO expansion matters. Sure, it matters because it presented an obstacle to Russian imperial ambitions. Putin didn't invade because he hated NATO expansion, he hated NATO expansion because he wanted to invade

Did the United States really spend trillions of dollars on winning the Cold War, only for its president in 2025 take orders from a Russian dictator?

This is an earth-shattering humiliation for America of which its reputation may never recover.
