A Senate vote on extending the ACA subsidies is supposed to occur the second week of December, but it is NOT A PART OF THE LEGISLATIVE TEXT.
The Senate still has to debate amendments & then vote for the final language. Then the bill has to go back to the House for a vote on final passage.

To Trump, language is just a way to convey emotion. Words and numbers do not correspond to any fixed meaning or reality in the world.
Pointing out how he fails to use this word or that number correctly is both absolutely essential and utterly banal.
That's just not how he uses language.

I really hate how Trump refers to everything as a "hoax." The "Democrat Shutdown Hoax?" The government was shut down. It wasn't a "hoax." Demented shithead.
Now we have Trump blasting air traffic controllers, telling them they hate this country for not showing up without pay.
"I am NOT HAPPY WITH YOU. You didn’t step up to help the U.S.A. against the FAKE DEMOCRAT ATTACK... You will have a negative mark, at least in my mind, against your record."

But they also said that Trump is facing far, far more public opposition today than the government ever saw during the McCarthy era. American civil society is weaker than many had hoped, but it's also stronger than it once was. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2025/1...

If Republicans refuse to extend the ACA right now, then no deal.
Dems should spend ample money explaining in commercials and social media why, also.
If they agree and it's a year Out then it should be renegotiated then and in that years time they can work on a bi-partisan bill addressing the ACA.

If Republicans in Congress refuse to extend the ACA premium tax credits, should Democrats allow the government to shut down again when the Continuing Resolution expires on January 31, 2026?

We have seen promises from various senators saying they will not vote against their constituents. But that is what some did over night. This is not tearing apart our democracy. This is about protecting the American people. Follow and protect the vote.
