I’m realizing that a lot of my feel for storytelling comes from my extremely Russian Religion, Art, and the Apocalypse professor who would often, in the middle of a lecture, say “this is depressing, let me tell you a joke”.

Also: printing out ascii guides downloaded from dialup BBSes was once a way of life.
