Did you know that 2/3 of all energy we use ends up as waste heat because of how inefficient our energy system is?

Yet we pay for 100% of the energy inputs.

Here’s the US as an example.

Once again I'm begging journalists — and climate people! — to stop using the phrase "climate goals" and start saying "climate safety" or "climate stability."

A "goal" sounds like an optional nice-to-achieve, but a relatively safe, stable climate is actually essential for human functioning.

Absolutely devastating news. Birds dying everywhere due to climate breakdown, even in the depths of the Amazon

As I've said before, the impacts are all-pervasive and there is nowhere to hide, for human or animal

In the most untouched, pristine parts of the Amazon, birds are dying. Scientists may finally know why
Populations have been falling for decades, even in tracts of forest undamaged by humans. Experts have spent two decades trying to understand what is going on

Paris definitely wasn’t always this way. And the change wasn’t magic, or even hard. This is very recent, and it just took vision and leadership. Your city could choose leadership too if it wanted to.

Why is it so important to focus on "super-pollutants", like methane?

"They are responsible for around 45% of global warming to date, as well as millions of premature deaths each year."

Economists expect people and companies to be rational actors who use cost-benefit analysis in decision-making

But capitalists say it's fine for countries to act irrationally and allow things that generate much bigger costs than benefits

So long as the benefit is private and the cost is socialised
£1.6 trillion to clean up pollution from PFAS manufactured by some of the wealthiest companies in the world, used in thousands of everyday products, now linked to serious health harms. Who foots that bill?

We build vehicles that weigh 9000 pounds with 1000HP, can go 0-60mph in 3 seconds and market them recklessly.

We then ask people to wear construction vests to cross the street. This is all so beyond absurd and it's truly incredible that we've normalized this.
