I wrote about an under-appreciated aspect of AAUP v. Rubio. It is the first case of the Trump Era to explicitly identify and reject the primary and most pernicious form of speech suppression employed by this Administration: Chill.

I talked to Osita Nwanevu about his new book The Right of the People: Democracy and the Case for a New American Founding. We discussed why the U.S. isn't a democracy and how to finally make it one. www.huffpost.com/entry/us-dem...
Trump’s Authoritarianism Isn’t The Only Problem With Democracy In America
A new book argues that America has never actually been a democracy. That doesn’t mean hope is lost.

Section 2302(b)(3) prohibits federal agencies from coercing employees to engage in political activity---let alone coercing employees to engage in a pretty blatant Hatch Act violation

Trading on Tom Homan: Inside the Push to Cash in on the Trump Administration’s Deportation Campaign
A Pennsylvania businessman who had Tom Homan on his payroll led companies to believe his connections to the future border czar could help advance their bids for government work, industry executives said.

I'm guessing this means we get the decision overturning of Humphrey's Executor this year with a fuller explanation about a Fed carve-out to be cited in the Cook case.

Here's the order, nothing more (i.e. the status quo prevails and she remains on the Board of Governors). The fact they're not letting him remove her in the interim is a huge tell, because in all the other independent agency cases they permitted removal.

It's a simple recipe, really: a scorching economic message delivered by political outsiders standing up to the powerful.
The villains in this narrative — and it's essential to have villains — are the elites at the top of a broken system. Neither Mr. Mamdani nor Mr. Osborn dwelled on cultural issues; instead, they concentrated on subjects like increasing wages and affording a home. Although their signature positions have strong public backing, their platforms are more than just a grab bag of whatever does best in the polls. They tell a story that reframes the debate, enlisting voters in a battle between the many and the few, with stakes that reach into everyday life.

Only an administration intent on committing war crimes in the present and future would stoop to calling Wounded Knee a "battle" rather than what it truly was: a massacre of over 250 Lakotas, mainly women, children, and the elderly. 1/
