I’m a huge fan of Japanese novels and poetry, so I’ve dabbled in my fair share.
“On Love and Barley” by Basho is a nice haiku collection, as are “For All My Walking” from Santoka and “Essential Haiku” with Basho, Buson, and Issa (translated by Robert Hass).

AND we have double-standards towards us. Artists can give the cast and crew their art/tag them on social media, can sell it, can display it wherever.
But writers are barred from mentioning the word “fanfic” within a 200mi radius of relevant persons. Why is our art supposed to be left in the dark?

Fanfiction is truly a labor of love with rarely reward because unlike art, which is easy for people to invest in, fanfiction is harder to garner interest because someone has to invest their time to read it.
And I say this as someone who is both a fan artist and fanfic writer.
