The line about mens work and women’s homes is not meant as patriarchal in the modern context, but is a reference to the concept of complementarity in life, sharing the work, doing what we enjoy and are good at, gender and other differences irrespective.

This vision would represent a Great Change.

I read Confucius and Confucian scholars, as much as I am able, with a Chinese friend. I am an applied ethicist by training & it is from this perspective that I am most engaged.

Right now, the US and Israel are under threat from within and much will need to change if they are to survive. Seriously.

I am not a formal scholar of Chinese philosophy, but I admire what I have been reading and getting to grips with. I am taken with Zen (as the Sinisized version of Indian Buddhism). I have developed my own version of the Dao De Jing by repeated engagement using many different English translations.
