The Reform party seems to have already won the battle on climate by scaring the UK government away from even talking about it.
Starmer is reportedly suppressing his intel agencies' report on climate threats.
Meanwhile some advisers are telling him to skip COP30.

Stamp duty is not the issue for young people who are nowhere near able to buy without help from parents.

The real issue is not stamp duty but the pressing need for genuinely affordable rentals

“Badenoch identifies the problem with our housing market” You have to be kidding Nick!!!

For starters the problem with housing is demand vastly exceeds supply (planning & investment)

But if stamp duty is the problem why did Tories keep it for 14years? #r4today

I couldn't seem to access the KB/TP article in the New Statesman (timed out every time), so here's an archive version.

Has Kemi Badenoch actually read Terry Pratchett?
She claims he’s her favourite author, but his books have a few lessons for her

I cannot be the only person curious about how these two things are related

Kemi Badenoch levels of denial are staggering. She reckons school standards are being destroyed by Trade Unions

14 yrs of Tories throwing money at #FreeSchools with few pupils, while State Schools were starved of funds; RAAC ignored

Kemi talks as though her govts had nothing to do with it

Depressing but really helpful long read on the reality of the "small boats".

The overwhelming majority are genuine refugees, enduring majorn difficulties in search of some safety.

This is a humanitarian crisis.

Any ideas what may have happened in the interim?

There are many who voted for Ruth Davidson’s Conservatives who are dismayed to see the party lurching to the extremes, reduced to being Reform-lite.

They are looking for a new home and they are finding it with the Scottish Liberal Democrats.

Apparently…. (Quoting from
the article)… In her conference speech, Badenoch claimed the Conservative Party was "fizzing with ideas" to fix the "broken model" she said was holding the country back.

What was stopping them doing that over the last 15 years..??

We've seen Starmer talk about Farage a little bit, but its not enough, because if you really want to go after him you should megaphone this stuff. Farage is a Russian asset in their war on the West, and it's just plain stupid and a dereliction of duty not to shout this from the rooftops.

"... and the Tories were trying to let China build nuclear reactors in the UK too because nothing says patriotism like letting a hostile state plant dirty bombs in your country."

She forgot that bit.

Badenoch: "While Britain was redefining what a woman is, China built five nuclear reactors."

A perfect summary of conservative idiocy. Glorifying authoritarian post-communism for its efficiency while vilifying democracy for seeking nuance and respect.

The Conservatives intend to knowingly make climate change worse. We will develop a proper strategy for tackling it at some point, but no we will not tell you what it is nor when it might be delivered.

Badenoch and Co see education only as a means to a massive income in some soul destroying career.

Devoid of imagination and the power of knowledge they view life entirely through the prism of the CV.

My advice always is to study what interests you and the rest will follow

Monstrous.

Good reporting on the South Shore raid from South Side weekly here.

Confirms one thing I was told but didn't put in my own piece because I didn't have a second source and it seemed too insane: border agents segregated arrested residents by race
